Does anyone know the time that they have the ice cream social at the Grille?

Is it soft-serve ice cream only or to they have handpacked ice cream?

Is it like the dessert bar at Chef Mickey's or is it more extensive?

How much is it?
Thanks

The Ice Cream Social is at 3 or 3:30. You will need reservations as they make up the ice cream in advance. It's very, very nice. We did this 2 years ago. The only reason we did not do it last year was because we didn't have reservations and weren't able to return at a different time.
The icecream is served on dinner sized plates. A chocolate chip cookie is set in the center. In the middle of the cookie is a waffle (?) cone. Inside the waffle cone is some wonderful Icecream! Sticking out of the ice cream are chocolate Mickey circles. Encircling the cookie on the plate is fresh berries.
My family thinks its well worth it! As do I

MaryBeth, I haven't been to the social, but I believe it's the same characters that host the restaurant at breakfast, lunch & dinner: Chip & Dale, Pluto and Mickey (and maybe Goofy?).

Anyone else out there know for sure?

I don't know what characters for sure, but I can let you know after 5/26 - that's when I'm going to the social. Love ice cream - diet is out the window on vacation!

We were at the Ice Cream Social two weeks ago and LOVED IT! The PS time for it is 3:00 - 3:15 at the Garden Grill Restaurant. The cost for the ice-cream sundae as described above (very accurately!!!) is $6.75 per person and Characters ARE in attendance. The kids pay the same price but get a different sundae, specially decorated on the chocolate chip cookie base, two scoops of ice cream, oreo cookie Mickey ears, a sugar cone "hat" and candy decorations.

It was actually one of the best character meals we've attended, because this is not well-known or publicized. There were only three (3!) PS's - and this was on the Sunday before Easter! The characters have time for lots of interaction with their guests. Each came around at least 4 times!

The characters in their "farmer-duds" are Mickey, Chip and Dale, and Pluto. Chip greeted us when we were coming into the restaurant and escorted our 4-yr old daughter to our table, hand-in-hand. Mickey spent lots of time with her, showing her how he can wrinkle his nose and encouraging her to try too! Chip and Dale came over together when the ice-cream arrived and were just Hilarious! They pretended to want to take the ice-cream away, which had my daughter protesting and the rest of us in stitches! Dale also banged my pop glass on the table to get a refill from the waiter and pulled up a chair to join us!

I'd highly recommend this!
