Ok here is the deal, we are leavin Saturday.

I dont do the Tower of Terror or Splash Mountain I dont like the physical sensations that go along with them. When I went to Disney in 1998 I was able to walk with my family all the way up til they got onto the car at ToT and was then able to walk around to the basement and watch the monitors till they got off. When I went in 2000 I was given the impression that was nolonger allowed. Im a huge Twilight Zone fan and really enjoyed the inside of the hotel and the waiting areas and woudl love to see it all again.

Do yall know if you can still do this? Go all thew ay through the line and get out of line instead of riding? What rides do or dont allow this? We are doing all four parks, going for 6 days with a 4 day pass.

Thanks! And yea, Im a big chicken . .oh speaking of, second question, does the Aerosmith ride go upsidedown?

_2_ days left!!

First of all the Aerosmith ride, Rock'n Rollarcoaster does have one loop and corkscrews.

I think most of the rides have an exit right before you actually board on to it. Members of my family did this last week on a few rides with no problem. I think the only thing you are not allowed to do this for are the fast pass lines- that is, if you do not have a fast pass ticket and just want to walk with your family up to the ride and then exit, they won't allow you. But if you do have a ticket and then want to exit, that is possible. graemlins/mickey.gif

My husband chickened out of ToT and the Aerosmith ride back in 2001. He was able to see the opening of both of the rides. And yes, RnR goes upside-down.

Rock N' Roller Coaster is a positive-G coaster... it was designed to really minimize that feeling of coming out of your seat. If you should decide to pass on the attraction, just let the CM know and they'll direct you to a door that will take you straight into the gift shop where you can wait for the rest of your party.

The same goes for Tower of Terror- just let the CMs know that you are bypassing the attraction and they'll have a runner take you on a special elevator where you can wait for your party (hopefully they'll have enjoyed a nice stay and made it back from their visit to the Twilight Zone).

Mission: Space works the same way- definitely take a look around the queue and you can ask the CMs and they'll direct you to the Advanced Training Lab (post-show area) where you can explore areas like Space Race or send a video postcard to your friends back home and make them jealous while you're on vacation.

If you're ever in doubt, just ask the Greeter CM and most of the thrill-based attractions should give you the option of bypassing.

Added Tip: for attractions like Body Wars and Star Tours if you are prone to motion sickness on these, but still want to experience the attraction, you can check with the CMs and see if they're running a flight check. That's when they run the film but without the motion of the simulator (best chances are early in the day if there isn't a long wait for the attraction). And sorry, they can't do that for Mission: Space.

At TOT, just ask for the "Chicken Elevator" thats what the CM's call it. Pay attention as you exit the elevator: to your right is Tower Control, and if the door is open you might get a neat look behind the scenes. If you get a friendly escort, and tell them what a big fan you are, they might even take youre picture with Rod Serling--Ask!

We went on TOT last week and used a FP to enter. My wife has back problems and we asked for this chicken exit but the CM told us this was not available. Seems from the other posts, if you wait in the standby line, it is possible? The FP seemed to use the same lines as standby before entering the elevators.

I've seen people get in the Chicken Elevator from the standby line on previous trips but not on this last one.

Fastpass and Standby lines merge right before you enter either of the 2 hotel libraries. Once you've left the library and enter into the basement/boiler room, my suggestion would be to head with your party off to the right where the line branches.

This way you can easily reach the wheelchair gate right in front of the CM that acts as a runner- specifically, this CM would handle taking people on the "chicken elevator". Typically their duties include if say a guest has a wheelchair after they have transferred from their wheelchair onto their tower elevator, they would take their wheelchair down to the unloading position so it would be waiting for the guest to transfer out, or handling the child-swap on the attraction.

You should see a CM stationed right in the general area of this gate or you should be able to flag down a CM handling load since it would put you right in front of the chicken elevator, between 2 CMs (one handling load of Bravo, the other handling Charlie elevator loading platforms). There is no other way to backtrack out of the queue through the library and back through the lobby.

I wouldn't say they made her ride although the CM didn't offer any alternitive. I suppose she could have walked back against the line. She decided to ride anyway and that turned out to be a bad decision.

I can not believe that they would not find a way to let your wife off of the Tower. My wife and I were there in July and she has a major fear of coasters and thrill rides. Which I am glad to say she got over while there, but before then all of the CM where very nice and showed her the exit for each ride while I rode and she built up her courage. We did however ask at the beginning of each ride to make sure it would be ok if she did not ride. They said that was fine and happens all the time. I wonder if the exit elevator was broken so your wife could not exit that way...hmmm. Sorry to hear that happened to you.

If this had happened to my wife she would have just refused to go and walk back up the line to the entrance!

She was young and may have not have understood what we were asking since I thought the chicken exit was after the ride elevator made the initial accent but before the drop. That would explain her "not available" response. A different CM put us in the elevator and, had we asked him, I feel there would have been the opertunity to get out. My wife isn't the kind to do anything against her will and I feel she didn't press harder because she wanted to go on the ride in spite of her condition. I don't really hold the CM's negligent for people not looking after their own health issues.
She should know better, the posted warnings are clear.

I can see not being able to do the tower of terror, but Rockin'Rollercoaster is just fast. You do go upside down but don't know it hardly. My mother cannot stand going upside down. She rode it after we told her what it was like and loved it. You can always try it and don't go again if you don't like it.

She should know better, the posted warnings are clear. This is what your problem was. You get on the chicken elevator before you board the regular one. Now talking to the poster of this thread, I'm quite sure you'll be able to walk through the queue area without riding, but ask the Cast Member greeting you just to be sure.

In terms of Rock "n" Roller Coaster, it does go upside down, but I really wish I didn't know it did. It just made me really scared for nothing. People told me that you don't feel it, and I didn't believe them, but it's really true. You get down from the loop, and a second or two later, your brain registers that you were upside down. It goes that fast, and it's that smooth. I'm the opposite of a coaster fan, and Rock "n" Roller Coaster pushes my limits, but I was able to ride it twice on my last trip and really enjoy it.

Thanks for the advice all, We got back last night. I chickened out of ToT and Splash Mountain and took the exits right at the ride, was a good thing too we were inline infront of a mom with a large family who had a 5 year old who wasnt tall enough to ride. I told her about this site and the advice I had gotten here and She and I(and her little one) happily asked for and were shown to the "Chicken Elevator" and watched with glee the photo monitors till our parties came down together!
