OK I slacked over the holidays http://www.intercot.com/boards/embarass.gif but the Attraction of the Week Posts are back http://www.intercot.com/boards/supergrin.gif

Peter Pan's Flight dates back to the opening of Disneyland it was one of the original Dark rides & is still a favorite among many park guests. This attraction has stood the test of time & is one of my must see attractions everytime I visit . My Favorite part is the flight over London. Let's hope this attracion is here to stay

Alright http://www.intercot.com/boards/bounce.gif ... I started riding this one over 30 year ago in Disneyland. This is my favorite Fantasyland attraction. That trip to Neverland just brings out the little kid in me. http://www.intercot.com/boards/supergrin.gif How could they take that away from us???

I would have to say my favorite part is also the flight over London.

Hey JPL, thanks for bringing back your attraction of the week posts!

I love the flight over London scene, also, but what makes the ride special is how close to the scenes the vehicles take you. The way the track weaves around and through the ship makes you feel like you are a part of the story (which, I imagine, was the whole point of the ride)!

FIRE Mr. Smee! (sp?)

I like that scene the best because of the detail of the little boat and the red light on the canon. The ride music is so peaceful, that it keeps everyone calm in the line and on the ride. I feel sorry for Wendy on the plank. She is shaking and has such a scared look on her face. In the movie, didn't she put her nose in the air and walked off with pride?

Doesn't anyone else notice how out of scale the tower and statue are? It makes the rest of the city look like ants and the statue and tower like giants. Ok a little pet peve, sorry. What a great ride http://www.intercot.com/boards/smile.gif I didn't mean to pick it apart, I just wanted to point these things out.

One of my favorite rides!!! This is where my sister, brother and I discovered black lights - we all had white t-shirts on and wondered why they were glowing. After our parents explained we rode again just so we could see our teeth "glow."

Peter Pan is our family favorite, not only the ride but the movie as well. I believe it is the most symbolic story of how we feel about Disney itself. It captures the magic of childhood.

Good choice, JPL ! Also one of my favs ...

I love the London scene too. I can remember the first time I rode that ride I was absolutely amazed. I love the little cars that move along the roads ... What a great touch of realism !

I also agree that the proximity to all of the scenery is a plus ... I like feeling like I'm right in the middle of the action !

This was the first ride which my cousin and her husband went on last year after we persuaded them to come to WDW.
As we stood in line, Ray, (fifty year old male who was very sceptical about Disney magic)waved to a similar aged man who was having difficulty with the safety bar. This guy caught Ray's eye and was a bit embarrased, so Ray just waved and the guy waved back. You had to be there really to understand the moment but for us it was the time when we knew the Disney magic was working.
Ray came off Peter Pan with a big grin on his face and we all thought YEEES!!!! Got him.
We went on to have a great holiday and now they understand our addiction.

I love this ride. Along with Snow White (and before it was closed, Mr. Toad) this ride is one of the classics. It's great when you start off and the music swells up and you float off into the air. Blacklights rock.

Peter Pan's Flight is a long time family favorite. Never have minded standing in line for this one. I like the little details that are on this ride. The little cars on the streets of London, the silhouette of Peter and the Darling kids against the moon, and the golden ship at the end. What would WDW be without Peter Pan ?

It's good to see this topic return. Thanks JPL!

Yes, a great but simple dark ride, in the same vain as Snow White and Mr. Toad. I feel that Disney is getting away from such things, so it's good to have this!

This was a pretty cool ride - everything from the 'take-off' to the London scene, right through the dips and double-backs.

Take time to notice how little space Peter Pan's flight takes. The track loops back and forth, using the scenery to hide what's around the next bend. Notice how the two ship scene's utilize the same sail - one on one side, and (duh) one on the other.

Sure, it's an older dark ride, and sure, it's not very long, but it's all of the little things that make it seem so dreamy - which was an omni-present factor in the Peter Pan story.

Finally, a big Woohoo! for high-throughput attractions!

I love Peter Pan's Flight. It's just a great ride--flying over London is a highlight and I love seeing the dog as he barks up at you. I haven't been on it in about 5 years because every time we walk over there the wait is incredibly long, but I'm going on it this time no matter what.

I had forgotten just how much fun this ride can be. We adults sometimes forget how to just relax and enjoy the scenery.

So when my 5-year-old nephew pulled me towards this ride last November, it made me look at it again, but through his eyes. And I remembered just how much I liked it.

Did a search for some attraction of the week posts, and am popping a few more up. Peter Pan's Flight has been my favorite Fantasyland attraction since I was 3, and I would still say it is in my top 5 or 6 in the Magic Kingdom. Although the technology doesn't compare to a newer Fantasyland attraction, like Pooh, Peter Pan's Flight combines charm and elegance together. It is a must-see every trip, and I'm usually on it more than once a trip! http://www.intercot.com/boards/smile.gif

Of course, we never miss Peter Pan. But lately, the line has more than quadrupled. You used to be able to walk up and get into a constantly moving line and be on the ride in no more than 7 minutes. Now the line stretches down to the Columbia Harbor House and back up. In all my years at Disney, I never even knew the line went that way. That is till earlier this year. What happened?! Oh I'll still wait, but each time I get on my wife's nerves saying "why the devil is this line so long?". I guess it has just been "re-discovered".
But, does everyone else agree that they really need to clean this ride up? There are stains on the curtain covered walls and the moon is filthy. Just a week's worth of work would have it bright and clean again.

I've always liked this ride, but after this past trip it holds a sentimental place in my heart. We went with friends one of whom had just finished her breast cancer treatments. She also had been injured on the job before being diagnosed. So this trip she needed an ECV. PPF is one of her and her husbands favorites and they had missed it on their last trip. We had been trying all week to get on, but the line was way too long and we always seemed to have a fastpass for something else. On the second to last night, we tried once again. This would be our last opportunity this trip. Once again the line was very long, no handicap access, and fastpasses had run out. The CM working there noticed that we wanted to get on and the situation, he grabbed a blank fp and wrote a time (20 min. or so)that we could come back and get right on. This made my friends' trip. I will always remember that.
