I keep seeing all of these posts on the Trip Report Board about having a Beverly. What is it? Is is a disgusting, gross drink? Where are they sold? Why do they sell them? Is it a joke?

I was thinking about trying one just because of all the fuss being made over them...

In Epcot's Future World there is a place called Ice Station Cool- sponsored by Coca Cola.
They offer free samples of Coke drinks from other countries. One of them is Beverly. It's from Italy and tastes a little like a anisette-flavored drink. A bit medicinal.
Most people don't like it at all, but some do.

Beverly is a cool, refreshing soda beverage from Italy that is used as an apertif to cleanse the pallet. I can assure you that it will clean your pallet, your throat, your stomach and chrome on older cars.

The best part is that it doesn't cost a penny.

Now available at the Ice Station Cool in Epcot, located to the right of the fountain.

Stop in, have cup or two, invites friends and don't forget to bring your camera.

Anyone who tries Beverly is either from the http://www.intercot.com/boards/devil.gif unbelivably brave, or very, very http://www.intercot.com/boards/grazy.gif

Good luck, make sure someone takes a picture while you sip it. http://www.intercot.com/boards/eek.gif http://www.intercot.com/boards/pukey.gif

I downed the whole cup of each one in one gulp, don't know what that makes me. Yes, that would be including a full cup Beverly in one gulp.

Beverly, despite the wrap it gets here, isn't all that bad. The problem lies with the presentation. Imagine you were about to drink a nice tall glass of icy, refreshing lemonade, and instead you got Guinness... certainly not a bad thing, but the shock of expectation vs. reality is tough to handle.

See, you sip all these different fruity and sweet sodas, and you suddenly get this bitter apertif called Beverly and it makes you cringe.

I tried Beverly (after hearing so much about it on Intercot) for the first time during my visit to Ice Station Cool two weeks ago.

It was SO BAD that it was GOOD. And I had to go back a second time to taste it again.

Just try it, either way you'll never forget the experience!
