You have complete control over the teacup as far as how fast it spins. If you go with my children, you will get sick! You may want to opt for your own teacup (if it's not too crowded)!

It's one of our favorites!!!!! Supposedly the trick is to look at a particular place, i.e. at the wheel, at your partner, at a fixed point. I'm not completely sure because this ride never makes me sick... I love it. But I've heard that there are tricks...

Watch out! My kids tricked my wife when they were little by telling her they wouldn't spin it much. When they got her on the ride they spun it as hard as they possibly could.
I thought it was funny, but she didn't.

You can get pretty sick, if spinning things effect you that way.

If you spin lightly or not at all, they can be very relaxing if you don't mind circular motions like me. http://www.intercot.com/boards/smile.gif

Mad Hatters Tea Party is my favorite ride in all of MK. My DH doesn't like it because he feels silly getting off all dizzy. I make him spin it super fast http://www.intercot.com/boards/smile.gif If you like things that spin I would definately go on it, otherwise you can go on it and not spin it. Have fun!!

Come on people, the Teacups is a classic ride at WDW. You have to try it at least once. Give it a try, it's not going to kill ya. I personally thought it was fun.

The Tea Cups have a strange effect on my friends. I had a friend (Emily is her name) ride them with me and a few buddies, get off very dizzy, go eat lunch at Cosmic Ray's and paint her cup with a straw and ketchup, mayo, and mustard. Very interesting... Very odd... very... Emily!

I love this ride, one of my favorites, but I find that as I get older I can't handle it as well as I used to. I still like to spin very fast, but for only a short period of time.

Would the tea cups be considered a "hub-and-spoke-and-spoke" attraction?

I had a traumatic experience on the Tea Cups when I was a little kid and haven't been back on since.

My parents took me to WDW for the first time in 1979 right after I turned 6. (I'm dating myself here.) I went on with my Dad and my brother, who was four then. Well, as soon as the thing started, my Dad started spinning the thing as fast as he could. My head snapped back over the back of the cup and I couldn't get it up for the entire ride. It was very uncomfortable and not much fun for a six year old. I think I may have gone back on it one other time when I was older on a subsequent trip, but my Dad traumatized me about riding those Tea Cups and I know I haven't been on it the last two trips I made down there. I don't necessarily avoid them, but I don't make it a point to go on them, either.

I love the teacups- the faster the better.

My mother, however, would disagree with me! http://www.intercot.com/boards/dead.gif

I've been all the time listed below but never on the teacups. I've watched my wife and kids go on them severla times, but never have and never will. ToT and RnRC back to back make me a little dizzy, I'm sure the teacups would be a lot worse!

In support of Bouncy's tricks, my DH does not do well on rides that go spin, but somehow I talked him into riding this one with me on our trip in May. He was the one that started the spinning, and I made it faster (and reversed it). He was watching me the entire time, and he didn't get sick or dizzy at all!

Hope you have a great time!

Despite the fact that I like coasters and drop rides, spin rides make me feel icky....but as people have said, you can set the pace...my mom and I rode together and didn't spin but a tiny bit...of course we jettisoned my teenage neice to her own cup because she insisted that she needed to spin a lot to enjoy the ride. Just don't get on with someone who might try to pull a fast one on ya...
