Disney's Grand Floridian resort has announced a new lounge space to replace Mizner's Lounge and the Commander Porter’s store.




... a new “Beauty and the Beast”-inspired lounge is coming to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa this fall. The enchanting lounge will celebrate the magic and romance of the popular Disney live-action movie.

Formerly Mizner’s Lounge and Commander Porter’s, this re-imagined lounge will feature four unique spaces inspired by Belle and the Beast. The signature bar will glow from the light of a magnificent gold chandelier that takes its inspiration from Belle’s flowing ball gown, with subtle nods to the Beast’s magical rose. The formal library showcases classical baroque designs and French furnishings inspired by Belle, with hints of the Beast’s friends. The garden room will be a whimsical space that draws its inspiration from the enchanted forest surrounding Beast’s castle. And an outdoor patio will evoke the romance of Beast’s garden terrace.

Agreed! I would have preferred if Disney stuck with the original theming. Maybe something Mary Poppins related would have been better?

Ditto about the new theming - not in line with the resort. Kind of like the Snow White thing at Artist’s Point. I actually ate at the Pocahontas breakfast there back in ‘97, which was more in line with the WL theme.

I’ll be staying at the VGF for the first time this November and I just got all excited to visit Mizner’s Lounge (actually for the food) and now no Mizner’s. But since it’s supposed to open in the fall, I’ll probably stop in anyway.
