With its proximity to the Jungle Cruise, you never know what appetizing goods will be available in the trader’s market! Imagine tempting your taste buds with one of the many market eats, such as a warm steamed bao bun. These unique bao buns will come in three different types – Spiced Vegetable Bao, Kaffir Lime Chicken Bao, and Bulgogi Beef Bao. You can also try a delicious chilled ramen salad or grab a tropical-inspired snack. And for a sweet treat, you can try Sweet Pineapple Lumpia, a spring roll filled with pineapple and sweet cream cheese!

After picking up a snack or two, choose a spot on the open-air dock, soak in the sights of the Jungle River waterfront, sit back, and listen to the musical sounds of the tropics – all while experiencing delicious new tastes! After the sun goes down, flickering torch lights will illuminate the area, transforming The Tropical Hideaway into an enchanting nighttime venue.

More surprises await you at The Tropical Hideaway, opening later this year.

Disneyland has additionally announced a special resident for the forthcoming Tropical Hideaway:

In addition to experiencing delicious tastes from all corners of the world, you’ll also encounter colorful wildlife.

After years of performing with the bird mobile chorus of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, Rosita is spreading her wings and taking flight towards a solo career. You’ll find her on the river’s edge at the loading dock waiting for her boat to arrive.

Rosita is a friendly cockatoo that looks forward to meeting travelers from around the globe who are also visiting The Tropical Hideaway. Pull up a nearby seat and say hello! But beware… she has a repertoire of jokes and one-liners that would make any Jungle Cruise Skipper proud!

This atmospheric entertainment is potentially a significant homage to two ideas Walt Disney had that never fully came to be. Most directly that the Enchanted Tiki Room would have been a tropical tea room with the birds performing above diners. Also Walt had envisioned a talking Vulture that would interact with his special guests in the Trophy Room of Club 33.
