Haunted Mansion Narration

Near the beginning of the attraction there is a part of the narration that is missing. The part that says there are 999 happy haunts but there is room for one more. Any volunteers? We asked a cast member at the entrance to the fp line that we asked responded that it was broken and they were fixing it. The first cast member we asked in the mansion just stared at us. We love this attraction and don't like to see any changes. We yelled "I volunteer!" anyway.

Anyone know why this is missing? And if it is coming back?

It was working when my DD was there a couple weeks ago. Hopefully it just needs to be fixed

The line you are referring to actually happens during the ride at Walt Disney World, around the library scene. It goes like this:

"Our library is well-stocked with priceless first editions — only ghost stories, of course — and marble busts of the greatest ghost writers the literary world has ever known. They have all retired here, to the Haunted Mansion. Actually, we have 999 happy haunts here. But there’s room for 1,000. Any volunteers?"

HOWEVER. The WDW version is different than the Disneyland version. In Disneyland, they don't have the library scene at all. So in California, this line is said in the hallway outside of the stretching room as you're waiting to get into the doom buggies:

"There are several prominent ghosts who have retired here from creepy old crypts all over the world. Actually, we have 999 happy haunts here — but there’s room for 1,000. Any volunteers? (Laughs.) If you insist on lagging behind, you may not need to volunteer.
And now, a carriage approaches to take you into the boundless realm of the supernatural.Take your loved ones by the hand, please, and kindly watch your step. Oh yes, and no flash pictures, please. We spirits are frightfully sensitive to bright lights."

All of the recordings you find online tend to be of the Disneyland version, which is maybe why most people think the "volunteer" line comes close to the stretching room. But it's completely separate in Florida! :)
