I am on a bowling team (3rd year). One of the ladies hits me on the arm to get my attention or add emphasis to something. I hate this. I have told her to stop, or said I will get a bruise but she didn’t. So I called her yesterday and told her I like bowling with her but for her not to hit me again. She said it’s just a tap and the got mad at me. She said she will probably quit bowling because of this and a few other things. I tried to change the subject after that and she sniffled and said she had to go. How would you of handled this?

I think you handled it well. You did it as an adult between the two of you. You can't control her reaction. Give her some time to think it over and maybe she will feel better in a little while.

I also think you handled it very well. Hopefully she will cool down and respect your request and continue to bowl

Thanks for the replies. Makes me feel better. Will just have to wait it out.

You didn't say or do anything wrong here. You don't like her "taps" and asked her to stop. Most people would just apologize and try not to do it again. If she's going to get upset and stop bowling over it, that's not on you. You have every right to ask someone to stop doing something when it involves you getting hit or even tapped in a way that upsets you. I'm sorry this happened to you and that she didn't handle it better.

So we bowled last night. She changed seats. Everyone had a good time. It was just like normal.

Good. I am glad it is working out. It might be a little awkward for a bit, but it will get better as time goes.
