View Full Version : Never coming back to Disneyland

I was hoping this trip would redeem Disneyland, but it hasn’t. I went to get my guest assistance card, and the guy told me that they quit giving those out 5 or 6 years ago. I told him that I was here in May of 2016 and used one. He repeated that they quit using them 5 or 6 years ago. Then his suggestion was to rent a wheelchair. I have to change positions every 15 minutes, so I cannot just sit in a wheelchair. I pointed this out to him. He told me to just get out and push it when I needed to stand up.
In 1997, I was injured in a motor vehicle accident while transporting a patient. I had to use a wheelchair and a disability placard. I worked very hard to get to the point that I don’t need those any more.
6 years ago I had a perforated ulcer and no one expected me to live. 5 years ago I was battling cervical cancer. I was not visiting Disneyland those years.
Disneyland can kiss my grits if they think I am going to go backwards in what I can do.

The GAC program was changed to the DAS program -- maybe he just didn't understand (not saying that was the issue but who knows.)

I would contact [email protected] to share your feedback, if you haven't already.

Thank you so much for that link. I was too upset to even think of looking for that to show to them. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I was just sitting here crying instead of thinking about it logically. My roommate is going to take that to guest services tomorrow and try to get it straightened out. I am afraid that if I go in there again, I will just start crying.

I'm sorry you have to go through this and am hopeful you will get it straightened out today.I do think though that you will need to go with your roommate to get this taken care of.

He got it taken care of. From City Hall, he had to go to Great Momentd with Mr Lincoln. Then they sent him to a little hallway behind the hat store where cast members got it all straightened out. It is all electronic now. They scan your ticket and your return time appears on your phone like a regular fastpass with Maxpass.
On a happier note, we watched someone get engaged during dinner at Blue Bayou. It was pretty cool how the cast members helped him pull it off, take pictures, etc.
