Just received this in email for my upcoming trip. Sounds like they are trying to accommodate the resort guests....

As a Guest of a select Walt Disney World® Resort hotel, you may explore Pandora—The World of Avatar beyond regular hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park during your visit! And there’s so much excitement surrounding this new world beyond belief, we’re giving you EXTRA Extra Magic Hours for two hours every night through August 19, 2017. It would be really nice if they would extend this thru the end of the calendar year. Not liking that there are NO evening EMH hours for anything but EPCOT (on one night only) currently scheduled for my trip 11/29 - 12/6 and AK is only open until 7pm.

Could be that they might add them closed. MK has MVMCP on 12/1, 12/3 & 12/5. I amsure they will add them to at least one other park on those dates

I suspect we'll see AK extra hours for the foreseeable future, but I understand that Disney doesn't to commit to them quite yet.

Hoping for the extra time later in August! :)

This has been going on nightly since it opened in May. It was supposed to end after 4th weekend, but they have extended it. They were also running morning EMH each day from 7-8 also then.

That said the usefulness is actually pretty limited. We were there in mid June a few nights and because the standby lines for River Journey and Flight of Passage were more than a 2 hour wait, they were shutting the lines down just after EMH started at 11p. So if you weren't in line before, you didn't ride. Then everyone else just crowded into the (Extremely Cool Looking) paths, making is extremely difficult to move, much less linger to look at things. The Photographers had handlers to keep people from bumping into them, and others to keep crawds moving since they often blocked paths. It has been crazy since the paths are way to small for the number of people there, even during the day with the full park open.

However, if you can just find a spot and wait until around 12:30 or 12:45 most of the people have seen everything they wanted or ridden and left.. then it cleared out quite a bit. One night they re-opened standby (for river Journey anyway, never happened with Flight of Passage) so we got to do that with very little wait, plus got to enjoy the atmosphere with it pretty empty.

Just don't expect to 'have the place to yourself' or think you will be able to ride the attractions several times.

If you can stay up really late, it is cool to see that late nearly empty. Remeber about the environment, it's cool to look at for 5 minutes.. but really explore and stand in one spot for 15 or 20 minutes, you find some amazing details you miss unless you don't. It's cool after 5 mins, byt amazing after 20.

It is nice to see the new land BUT, this is at the expense of basically ALL other Extra Magic Hours. We are in the middle,of a two, week stay (first week 4th of July week) and the other parks are closing, consistently, at 9 and 10pm and NOT having night time Extra Magic Hours but maybe once a week in the heat of summer. Absolutely ridiculous. and keep in mind, Animal Kingdom isn't staying open late, Pandora (i.e. 2 rides) is. Very disappointing!
