Tips for fourth of july

first time ever going to DW for July 4th. I am a bit nervous about constructing a game plan for the parks. What is the best strategies that people have used in the past? Parks early and out? Go late and stay? Resort hop and find a spot to watch fireworks from outside the parks? Make dinning reservations at POLY or in MK? What works best?:confused:
Any help would be appreciated. I have a less than patient DH.:blush:

As far as the parks go I'd avoid parks with morning EMH, be there at opening. Take off at the heat of the afternoon for naps/pool, back to the parks later. Save fast passes for the afternoon park.

4th fireworks depends on your crowd tolerance. We always did Illuminations in the park and then grabbed a spot to sit and wait while the crowds spilled out.

On days where it is particularly busy I am always nervous to arrive too late or leave a park early for a break for fear it will reach full capacity.

I was thinking of watching fireworks on the third at MK. Maybe going to DHS on the fourth. I thought that would be the least crowded park on the 4th.
