Does anyone know of a service that will send a text notification to my cell phone as soon as free dining is released? I don't mind if there's a fee (wondering if maybe touring plans subscription offers this?)
I just want it to go straight to my cell phone as soon as it drops - even in the middle of the night.
I have signed up for every email alert I could find, but 1) it could send out the morning after and 2) My phone won't buzz if it comes in in the middle of the night, I don't want an alert for every email I receive (if anyone can share the exact steps to add an alert to 1 specific email address - from gmail & iPhone 6, that would be great!)
Thank you

Touring plans has ADR notification but not for the free dining plan. For what it's worth the ADR is great, worked perfectly for us.

The best way to get free dining (or any other promotion)? Let the awesome gang at Magical Journeys take care of it for you. Then, you can sleep and they will get you sorted. Trust me, it is amazing to wake up to a notification that you saved money ... and you didn't have to do anything.

I know there are services that alert you to ADR availability, but I haven't heard of one for free dining or other promotions that are in "real time".

You might have Magical Journey's take care of your reservations. They will monitor any discounts and then apply them to your reservation. Cost free. They are a sponsor of intercotton as well. I have used them since 2007 and will not do my own again. They are great.

Hope this helps..

Another vote for using Magical Journeys to handle your booking for you.

Thanks y'all. I actually sent an email/request to MJ and small world vacations, but I'm not feeling really good about either. There was a lot of: well, free dining is nearly impossible to get, we don't know for sure if it will be released, there's very few rooms that will get it, etc... seemed like all excuses. I worry that my reservation will be at the bottom of importance so they won't work as hard to get it added. I wish I would of heard: I will jump on free dining for your ressie as soon as it's released & do every single thing possible to get it for you! If you book x,y,z you will increase your chances...but I didn't :(
I feel like I could do it if I just got to find out right when it came out.

They work really hard getting you discounts when they become available.
They don't have a crystal ball.

Magical Journeys is awesome.

This is the issue. We will not guarantee ANYONE free dining.

*IF* free dining happens we are online the moment it is released (yes, we usually know) and try to get it for everyone. If your resort is not available we see what is.

BUT

We have also seen the dates for Free Dine change and decrease over the years so we can never, ever, ever make that promise to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

Any agency that does is not being honest with you and only wants your booking without having your best interest at heart.

We work hard for our clients, and I know Small World does as well (yes, I am friends with the owner)

Why are you not getting the golden promise you would like to hear? We are honest.

Considering Magical Journeys doesn't charge you a fee for their services, I think their response is completely appropriate.

Free dining can be a challenge to obtain, even doing it yourself. You have to be either extremely flexible or have the luck of the draw as to when and where Disney makes the offer.

All hope isn't lost because thousands get free dining every year. However, I'd put my trust in Magical Journeys in a heart beat (and have). They do what they can, when they can and many times make the magic happen.

Thanks!

Nanci, I definitely don't expect anyone to promise me free dining! I thought that was clear in my post where I said "I wish I would of heard..."

I did hope for at least a promise that they would attempt to get it! But I was just told, basically, it's too hard, probably won't happen.

Anyways, we are completely 100% flexible on everything from date of travel, length of stay, to resort, etc, so in all honesty I didn't think it would be that hard! I will just have to keep looking into it and checking more often in March/April...like you said Genna, thousands get it, so maybe it'll happen for us this year!
I may even try to become a Disney agent myself if it's doable in time!

Well, if anyone comes across a text service please share :) thank you!!!

You need to make your room and ticket reservations through Magical Journeys and then just sit back and let them do the rest. We have used them (specifically Denise) for a number of years now and love them. A few years ago several discounts were released the same day. By 7am I had received an email detailing the two discounts that we qualified for but Disney would only allow one to be used so we had to choose. The email listed exactly what the savings for each discount was and we chose accordingly. By 8am Denise already had contacted Disney and had the discount applied and it was a huge savings for us. I don't know if any other way you are going to be alerted to free dining short of checking the Disney website continuously. I really doubt that Magical Journeys would be alerting anyone who did not go through them to book Disney. That would be an overwhelming task to try to accomplish.
