View Full Version : Cigars?

My hubby likes to smoke the occasional cigar. In the past he and I have gone to the cigar bar that used to be at Downtown Disney, but that is no longer an option. I know that some resorts sell cigars. Does anyone know where purchased cigars may be smoked?
I know there used to be a designated smoking area on the 4th floor observation deck at the Contemporary, just outside the shop that sells cigars. Now that that space is being used for the new monorail dining event is this space still a designated smoking area?
Also, we are staying at the poly. Are there any locations where DH may have a drink and a cigar there? Is the patio at Trader Sam's a smoke free area?
Thanks!
Great questions. I also like to have an occasional stogie - but I'm very conscious about the smoke and where it is floating. Honestly not sure about the smoking area's though. As you mentioned, at least last time I looked, the resorts still did sell them - which means there should be a place to smoke them. Usually, I would do it on my resort room balcony unless someone was outside at the same time near me.

Pretty sure cigars can be smoked at any dedicated smoking area.

My sister has been in WDW smoking areas with cigar smokers. Never a problem for her to share the area with a cigar smoker.

DH and DS21 are both cigar smokers. Never had a problem in the designated smoking areas. As far as enjoying a drink with a cigar you can grab a drink at Mizners and go out on the GF 2nd floor patio (near the glass elevator). At WL we would grab a drink at Trout Pass and go around back to the patio to watch the sun set, unfortunately that's going down for renovations on the 13th.
Not sure about the 4th fl CR deck but there are some little tables out by the dock that are smoking areas. We've taken a bottle of wine out there at night and just enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Thanks everyone! We are not smokers so I have no idea where each resorts smoking areas are. Guess we will figure it out later this month!

Not a smoker, but I did notice that they sell cigars at Poly and the smoking areas are marked on the Disney app. Their maps are fantastic.

Maybe the maps have been improved since my trip last year, but we found that the smoking areas aren't always where they say they should be. We eventually found them, just not where they were marked on the map or where the app said they should be.

You should have no issues at resorts or park smoking areas. Hubby is a cigar smoker so much so we bring a 8 cigar travel humidor on vacation. Some of our favorite places for him to enjoy one are at the GF balcaney to the right of Mizner's, the porch rockers outside of Yachtsman Steakhous, smoking area in the Italian pavilion at Epcot and All Jambo smoking area. All places he has access to a nice glass of scotch or Irish whiskey. All deluxe resort gift shops sell cigars.

Could be. We never tried to actually find a smoking area, just noticed they were featured on the map. I do think the maps have been updated within the last year. They are much improved over our past map experiences.

Yeah, I bring a box of cigars with me on each trip. All the resorts I've stayed at I've smoked in their areas with no issue. Occasionally cigarette smokers don't like the volume of smoke, but seldom an issue. However, no problem. Each of the resorts I've seen a small over priced, dried out selection (non humidified storage). Getting a drink is spotty at some of them. I bring a bottle with me to where I'm sitting.
