I've done a little bit of research on this show, but I have not really found an answer to what I am wondering. Does anybody know if the River of Lights show will be continuing outside of the summer months? I am going to Disney in December during Christmas and I really want to see this show, but I don't want to get my hopes up if they aren't going to continue the show.

I'll appreciate any information that anybody can give me about the River of Lights! Thank you!

There's not a lot of information out there on ROL. They should have started by now but threw in the Jungle Book because they couldn't get it up and running. I don't think anyone knows when it will begin let alone end.

Oh, I didn't even realize that ROL hadn't started yet... So I guess I will just wait and see what becomes of the show

Thanks for your reply, it helped a lot!

I saw something today that said "coming soon" but provided no specific dates.

Have there been any other updates as to when the "Rivers of Light" will start?

Only announcement has been that the Jungle Book show is ending 9/5.

Cast are reporting (http://www.intercot.com/discussion/showthread.php?213163&p=2489969#post2489969)that additional testing is still required for Rivers of Light which has postponed a second opening date announcement.

From different things I've read, it doesn't sound like it'll start before December. We already changed dinner plans for the night we planned to be there since it doesn't sound like it'll happen any time in October.

So what is actually going on at night at AK? When I check the schedule for the end of October there doesn't appear to be anything listed for the evening hours...no Harambi street party, no Jungle Book show, no Tree of Life lighting. Is it even worth a day's ticket if there's nothing to see at night?? I'm very frustrated with Disney right now. We have a trip planned for the end of October and we will be doing things at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival...but as for the other parks, so much is being ended/closed/removed that I wonder if we will even visit the other parks...no night parade at MK, no Star Wars fireworks at night at HS...no night entertainment at AK. It seems that Disney is just trying to drive guests to Disney Springs at night. If there's nothing for adults to do at the parks at night, then they will go to Disney Springs...sigh.

I was wondering the same thing. Our visit is scheduled for the middle of October, and I was really looking forward to night time at DAK. I still remember the late nights at DAK, and back then, though hardly anyone was there, I loved it. Also, I was really looking forward to experiencing the nighttime safari. It seems I read somewhere that after September, nighttime at DAK may be a thing of the past.

Rivers of light was set to debut on Earth Day of this year but something went severely wrong (rumors of a barge sinking). Disney decided to still make a cash grab and advertise their new evenings at Animal Kingdom for the summer with a poorly reviewed Jungle Book night time show, Sunset Safari, and tree of light awakens. We went this evening and enjoyed the sunset safari, the tree of life awakens was OK and other than that there's only Everest or Kali River rapids really. Not much to do there...
