I have missed y'all so much!

I have not listened to the podcast yet, but I was reviewing the "minutes" so to speak.

How is it that I did not know or had not heard that they had removed the Earful Tower? I feel like I do pretty well at following what is going on - was this a surprise to anyone else? I mean the whole hat removal was major news and this seems like it was under the radar.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing what y'all have been up to!

I think you missed a real opportunity to name this podcast "A Wagon Full of Potatoes." :D

I had to chime in about the Run Disney events in Disneyland. I just ran the Tinkerbell 10k, and while the course was pretty great, there was a noticeable shortage of on course entertainment and characters. There were literally only TWO character stops, and NO characters at the start or finish line. There weren't even as many rides "running empty" (something they usually do at DL) as there were for the Disneyland Marathon weekend 5k last year. It was like they chopped all the "extras" in half. It was disappointing...

We are planning to do Star Wars in January, but I am lowering my expectations considerably. I feel like Run Disney has crested the peak and is on its way downhill, which is sad, but at the same time, inevitable. It has become too big, too fast.

Off to finish the rest of the podcast.

P.S. Welcome back, Mel!

I know I said something about a wagon full of potatoes but honestly I don't remember what (or more importantly why! ).

Actually, it was a "Sled full of potatoes", referring to some heavy breathing into the mic by Mel! Maybe a slight case of "The Vapors"? :faint: After all, she IS a Southern Girl!:curtsy:

Ah, yes, it was a sled. I stand corrected. I think it was "A wagon full of radishes," that Christine followed up with.

Wow, Ian was cranky.

I have not been to Trader Sam's, but I was looking forward to the unique menu offerings (which I will not get to see, apparently). I was surprised to hear Ian say that sometimes he just wants a cheeseburger, when so often we Disney fans complain about the homogenization of the menus. In fact, just a couple minutes later he was complaining that all the breakfast food is just the same, regardless of where you go.

Discouraged to hear about the FUBAR race, as my wife is planning on her first RunDisney event next year.

But I really enjoyed listening and am happy to have another podcast up!

It's an absolute mess in just about every way you can mess something up.

That said, you probably make a fair point about talking out of both sides of my mouth a bit. I don't actually remember the particular quote you reference, but honestly I think it might have been a throwaway comment I made in response to something John said. I didn't actually have any issue with the Trader Sam menu.

Honest question: do you plan to stop going? Have you reached that point yet?

We weren't talking about Trader Sam's. We were discussing Jungle Navigation Co new menu.

The sled full of potatoes is Michael. That's definitely his breathing.

Honest question: do you plan to stop going? Have you reached that point yet?If it was up to me, Nat, I'd go to Disneyland or nothing at all. I'm long over Walt Disney World personally. But the kids still love it so we go.

FWIW I did know we were talking about the "new restaurant in Adventureland" I just forgot what it was called

Fair enough. I mostly feel the same way. My kids still love the water parks and Epcot (go figure, right?) and my parents retired down near Orlando, so WDW will be in our future, but I don't really ever feel like I *need* to go anymore.
