So Intercot people - don't be mad at me (!) - but this half of Canada has decided to forego Disneyland in January but is instead going to have a Disney World/Disney Cruise/Universal Studios vacation. DD and I are hoping to do the 5K the day before we leave for the cruise. Anyone else from the boards planning on going??

1/18 of Canada will be running the Dopey this year. That is if my deferal ever comes in.

I don't think I am going to run but I may head over that week if people are around. Your vacation sounds great. :)

Have a great time everyone! My job won't let me take the time off again during that week. It was really hard for my co-worker last year. It is only the two of us running the site. It seems weird not signing up for a race that weekend. I've been going since 2012 when I ran my first half marathon.

Good luck on the races!

Thanks for the reminder :) mostly a lurker here, but got myself a spot in the half marathon. Doing a solo trip this time as well, it will be a different experience.

Be sure to say "Hi!" to DH. He did the Dopey last year, but didn't want to train so much again, so this year he's also doing the half marathon. Doing the Dopey takes a lot of training, at least if you're post-retirement age!

haha I am sure it took over his life. I am not post-retirement age and I can't imagine training for anything beyond a half marathon.

I assume they'll be some kind of roll call for people running as the date gets closer

How many Intercotees are still planning to come to Marathon Weekend?

How many Intercotees are still planning to come to Marathon Weekend?

I'm gonna miss being there this year - but the good news is, with my move to Hilton Head Island, SC - I'll be within easy driving distance to do other events or marathon weekend in 2018 (instead of hopping on a plane).

Scheduled to go to the Disneyland races in January but wondering if we will be settled by that time. Fingers are crossed...

I'm not doing a race until April Star Wars. I live close by and can pop by for cheering or meet.

My wife and I will be running the 10k on 01/06/16. A runDisney event is on her bucket list and all of her girlfriends that talked a big game about going together backed out, and so at the last minute I stepped up to volunteer.

I am the most unqualified person I know to be running in a marathon of any length (except maybe the marathon over to the nearest Mickey Bar stand). I have had a year to prepare and I have gained more weight that ever and did jack-diddly-squat to prepare.

Look for me over at the closest first aid tent!

I will be right there with you Goofy4TheWorld, although I have done some training for this madness. Hopefully we can get together and have a couple of Mickey Bars before or after we run!

So is there a cheerIcot presence during the 10k? I always enjoyed listening to the crew talk about it on the podcasts (and their disappointment at the cowbell being banished near Beach Club) but I never paid attention to what race they were cheering at.

Well, I know my wife will be there cheering, and I hope we can get a few more.

Just in case you don't know, tomorrow's 1/2 Marathon has been cancelled, due to projected weather. RunDisney put out an official statement a couple hours ago. I feel very bad for all the runners, but fortunately DH is just focusing on "I don't have to get up at 3:00 and stand in the rain!"
