View Full Version : Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Rehab Delayed?

My wife read somewhere that BTMR rehab which was originally scheduled for April 4th had been delayed to sometime in August(?) but most sites I look at (including this one) have not been updated to reflect this. Since our trip starts right around April 4th we were going to miss it unless we went in the evening just for this ride.

Yesterday the MDE Fastpass system allowed me to select BTMR on April 8th, but I am not sure if this is proof enough that it will be available or if I just wasted a Fastpass? If anyone else can confirm this delay I would appreciate it.

Something has indeed changed. I have FP+ reservations at MK for 4/22/16 and I just checked MDE and BTMRR is now an available FP+ selection, where it was not last week.

I hope y'all are right. When I first researched closures, it was going to be down for our trip in June. If they are taking it down in Aug, that would sure be better for us.

It appears Disney announced the change February 28th. New closure dates are now August 8 to November 18, 2016.

By "announcement" I think it was more of "snuck it into the updated calendar" move by Disney. ;)

Just talked to a friend that's is an travel agent for Disney.

BTMRR has been removed completely from the rehab schedule according to her site. Odd.

Oh gosh, I hope it opens on time. My 4-yr old is really looking forward to riding "the train"!

So sorry to hear about the change in dates for the closure. We will be there in November but are leaving on the 18th.
