So after another great #runICOT and #cheerICOT turnout at the 2016 WDW Marathon Weekend, a lot of us were talking about skipping 2017 weekend and instead going to Disneyland for the Star Wars Half Marathon weekend January 12-15, 2017. There is a 5K, 10K, 1/2 Marathon and a Rebel Challenge. Registration opens around June. More info on that to follow.
If you haven't had a chance to visit Disneyland before, and you love(like) to run, or you just want to yell like a crazy person cheering for complete strangers, join us. This IS the trip your looking for!!!

If I can convince my wife to go with, I'd totally love to race at Disneyland.

This is the trip I've been looking for.

Needless to say, I'm completely onboard for this. We are running this weekend as a family for the 5k and I will probably do the 10k next year. I would love for this to be a big Intercot event next year because I know 100% that I can be there! :)

OMG I'm totally onboard with this. I may bring the whole family too. Now say a prayer to the money gods that the Canadian dollar goes back up because it'll cost me a ridiculous amount more with the conversion!!!

I just have to say, too, that the 5 and 10k courses at Disneyland are WAY better than the ones at WDW. Almost completely inside the parks!

I'll still be doing the 10k in WDW that I deferred.

Star Wars is the only Disneyland race I haven't done yet. A group of Intercotees may make this a very tempting option for 2017!

My DH is saying I need to pick one race per year (we disagree on how many disney trips in a year are too many ). So my default race is the Tinker Bell (it is nice that I get in a better corral for the woman's race and I like spending mother's day at my favorite place) but if there is a reason to do one of the other races, like a large intercot contingent, I would strongly thinking changing my race for the year.

I will keep an eye on the forum to see how others are leaning when it gets closer to registration!

Can't you use your deferral for ANY other event? Or does it have to be the same event the following year.

I believe the same event because they told me I would receive an email with a code and instructions how to sign up 2 weeks before regular registration.

Thanks for the info Justin! My husband was considering deferring this year because the guys he was planning to run with had to all drop out. BUT, he realized he would get a coast to coast AND the Inaugural Kessel Run Challenge medal if he did the race as planned this year so of course he is going to go ahead on his own.

So today is the 11 month window for DVC and we used a non sponsor(sorry, John) and they confirmed a reservation for us at the Grand Californian. We cannot wait to go back. Just returned from a quick trip to DLR and every time I forget how much I love it there. Hope to see a nice strong #runICOT AND #cheerICOT presence in January.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one already booking a room. I can't wait to get back to DL! Also, this will be my first run ever, of anything. I plan to do the 5K. I'm nervous and excited. :yay:

I'm gonna get on booking a room too. I think we will stay at Grand Californian...gotta check it off my Disney Hotel bucket list!! As for races, I think my DD and myself will do the 5K and my DS (age 7) will do the 400m kids race. He did the Avengers 5K last November and even though he managed it, the whining was a little much. "ARE WE THERE YET?!?". Hahaha! I'm sort of tempted to do my first 10K too...will keep thinking about that one...

Don't fret, just try again next Tuesday when regular registration opens! Early registration only covers 10% of the race capacity.

I'm holding off but I might still come even if I don't run. If it sells it out, there is a chance I can get in through the Raw Threads Club. We are trying to do something different for a vacation so I'm debating Disneyland versus a cruise. :)

I'm signed up for the Half! And me and my family are in for the 5K!!! I too decided to take a break from the challenges for a bit - getting up so early multiple days in a row is just too hard.

This race will mean I've completed all of the four Disneyland Half races!

Looking forward to meeting other Intercot folks!

I hope this is okay. Taking from another thread. I thought might be appropriate for this thread also.

There are a ton of details about this new option but for now I am quickly posting the pricing for anyone that is considering this.

Frozen Pre-Show Package = $49 per person, plus tax
Frozen Pre-Show Plus Lunch Package = $99 per adult and $79 per child (ages 3-9), plus tax & gratuity
Frozen Signature Dining and Behind the Scenes Package = $299 per person, plus tax & gratuity

Was wondering if anyone wanted to do this and get a group together to experience the New FROZEN stage show.
