Going through a rough time. Been in the hospital a few times now. The last two for chest pain. The echo cardiogram was normal but doesn't rule out blockage. Tomorrow morning I will have a heart cath. I'm terrified, but need it done. Could use some prayers and pixie's at this time. Thanks.:ill:

You will be fine. My BIL had two stents put in the last two weeks (couldn't do both at the same time for some reason) and he feels like a new person. My DH had two put in about 9 years ago and has had no issues since. You will be awake the whole time and the procedure is painless. The pressure they will put on your leg afterward may hurt a bit but you can get thru it.
Good luck and much pixie dust coming your way. :pixie::pixie:

Thinking of you. My husband has been through a lot health wise in the past five years and we have found that the things the health professionals can do to improve lives is amazing.

Thanks everyone... The heart cath went well. They came for me at 6am for a 7 am start. They did go through the wrist, but had the groin prepped just in case. They gave me the sedation but I didn't feel like they did. I was wide awake and felt everything. The worse was feeling pain in my arm.

The cath itself came back totally normal.... so now I know there are no problems there. Afterward in recovery my arm still hurt. I was told that it shouldn't hurt after....well I guess I'm one of the few that it did. They took me back to CCU where I told the nurse about the pain. It took about 4 hours to get the doctor since he was in the cath lab doing others. Finally he called back and gave me Percocet....which I told the nurse it wouldn't do anything. I took it along with Xanax....and had to wait a half hour to see how it worked. Didn't help the pain at all. Finally got some morphine and about 1/2 hour later it started to kick in. Their pain scale is 1-10.... My pain was at 20!! I was literally crying in pain.

I was able to go home around 4pm. By then my pain level was a 5 and tolerable. This morning I just have pain at the puncture site which is to be expected. Whew...so glad this is over.
