Dining Plan Credits Question

We have deluxe dining on our upcoming trip. A friend is joining us for a meal are we able to use one of our credits for them?

When the rumored changes were posted at the end of May one of the items on the list was that you could now use your dining credits for someone else. I have never seen an "official" announcement on this though.
