Can you make 2 FP reservations for the same ride? Say once in the morning and again later in the day?

No. You have to choose 3 different attractions in MDE initially. If you do that and go back in and try to change one, the list of available attractions from which to choose the new FP+ will not contain either of the other two for which you already hold a FP+.

I don't know what happens if, after you've used the first one in your set of 3, you then try to change one of the remain 2. It's possible that if available, your first attraction would show up on the list and you'd be able to get that second one. I don't think that'll work either, but it's possible.

About your only real possibility is to wait until you've used all 3 of your FP+ and then go to a kiosk and see if the ride you want to do again still has FP+ available. If so, you should be able to get it.
