I am going to start walking with my kids this summer to get their legs ready for the long day of walking in the Disney Parks. Wondering for those who keep track of their steps who do full day at the parks how many steps they walk in a day?

Thanks.

28,000 was my most 17,000 was my least steps on our last trip. And I figure there are times when I was walking but I didnt have my phone on me. But I averaged over 20,000! I seriously doubt my kids walked as much as I did but I would assume at least 10,000 to 15,000.

I bought a FitBit two weeks ago, literally just to track steps at Disneyworld.

We went this past weekend. My totals?

Friday - plane landed at noon, got into DHS around 3pm, stayed for four hours, then went to DTD, then went to dinner at Narcoosee's at 9pm, went back to the hotel around 11pm. Total steps - 16410.

Saturday - At Magic Kingdom at park opening, stayed until 2pm. Went to the outlet mall, then took a nap until 5:30. Went to DTD where we had dinner and a movie. Drove back to the hotel at 11pm. Total steps - 18799

Sunday - All day at Epcot from opening until 7pm. Then went back to hotel to pack. Total steps - 16849

I hope that context helps!

We move around the park a lot, including fly from one land to another in MK. We walk well over 20,000 steps a day when you consider just the amount it takes to get from the entrance gate to the car! However, we are very active we generally keep moving all day and only go on rides with short lines or with our fastpasses! :walk:

I kept track last year and we just remembered the miles. We walked anywhere from 7 to 12 per day. I do walk more then the rest of the family going ahead of them pushing Granddaughter in stroller. Good idea you have, remember good shoes are the key,

Thanks this all helps. Kids sit so much in school. I really want to take advantage of the summer months and get them moving. To prep for all the walking.

We are doing that with our kids now for our June trip. We are walking as much as possible after dinner. We do this before every trip and it really seems to help all of us.

Enjoy your trip.

When we were there in October my fitbit usually showed between 18,000 and 24,000 steps per day. We take it sort of easy as I have a bad knee, and we also our DS with us who was just shy of 3 years old.

Also remember it's not just the walking, it's a lot of standing/being on your feet. Getting them more ready for that is a really good idea, and being more fit is always a bonus. Have fun with it!

To keep myself motivated on my route, I like to pretend it's World Showcase, and I imagine certain houses or landmarks to be the countries. Sometimes I do parks, too. Sounds weird, but it really does keep me going.

On our last trip, my GF and I did 26,811, just shy of 15 miles on a *very* full day at MK. Next day was 19,600 steps (about 9.5) in a 3/4 day at Epcot. If only I could walk that distance each day at home!

Last month I averaged 20,000 steps/day. I would say I am not strategic in my walking--i.e. I go out of my way a lot and do not always take the most direct routes.

I just got a new phone and it has a fitness tracker (I'm assuming it's similar to fitbit). I can't wait to see how many steps (on average) I've been taking during my Disney trips. I had to add that I'm somewhat obsessed with this app. I find myself checking many times a day. I'm sure I'll be checking it often during our November trip.

Seems most days I'm in the 20-30k range. Big days traveling to multiple parks I have hit the high 30's but 20k is more typical. That compares with a. Average day of 6-7500k at work/home. Disney vacations are quite a workout!

We were in the 15,000-20,000 range on most days, but I did have a high day of 28,000.

10,000 to 15,000 each day; depending on which park we went to

I'm not sure how many steps because I had the pedometer I was using set to miles, but we averaged 5-7 miles per day (and one 10 mile day in Epcot).

EPCOT is almost always a 10-mile day. Other parks vary for us from 7-10 miles depending on how much we do, when we arrive/leave, etc.

I only wish all that walking burned as many calories as I EAT!!!!

I think this is pretty cool. I often listen to longer loops of Disney music on my walks, like the Reflections of Earth Pre-show and then full show so that gives me a good hour walk.

I've TRY to average 10,000 a day at home but lately it's just been too HOT!

If you just use a step counter, the mile conversion is very iffy. You are not doing 2.5-3 feet per step in the park. A lot of steps are only a foot or so when in line or when its crowded. Most of the mile counts though sound about right. It would be hard to log more than 15 miles in a day and still see very much

We just got back from our trip and we ended up between 18k and 22k steps per day. Great exercise while having fun.

Happy stepping
