I just got myself a Fitbit last week. Trying to get in better shape, and quite frankly, I wanted to have a good pedometer when I go to WDW next week.

How many of you have actually tracked steps, distance, and calories burned while at WDW? I'm curious as to what an average day looks like.

I used mine (Fitbit Charge) Easter week, and I averaged about 16-17K steps a day. One day I went over 20K!

I know I've hit 20-30k steps easily most days when I am in the parks. Especially Epcot. I think I came close to 40k once. It's fun to track... bet you do more than you think.

Wow!! I can see that though. I was with my family who tends to go hard in the morning, then head back to where we are staying around 3pm or so. If we went all day, I guess I'd have more steps.

When we went the week after Christmas I know I logged a minimum of 20K steps a day. Your calories burn of course is going to depend on your gender, weight, height and age. It's definitely fun to see how many miles you actually walk in a day at the World. :D

I'm using the UP Jawbone right now. Eventually will get a fitbit.

I do about 5000 to 10,000 steps at Epcot. I usually walk from arrival to 12:30 or 1:00pm when I leave the park. Not bad that up until January I was using a scooter.

It also amazes me how many steps I get in at home just doing regular walking.

I averaged 20,000 steps a day on our last trip 28, 000 steps and 13.4 miles was my highest. I use the app on my phone which I find to be pretty accurate but my DH and I want to get fitbits before our trip next month. Its crazy to think how much you walk. I work retail so I frequently walk 10,000 or more steps a day. But I never hit the totals I see in Disney.

I forgot to get back on here and give an update as to my FitBit activity for our little 2.5 day trip.

Friday - plane landed at noon, got into DHS around 3pm, stayed for four hours, then went to DTD, then went to dinner at Narcoosee's at 9pm, went back to the hotel around 11pm. Total steps - 16410.

Saturday - At Magic Kingdom at park opening, stayed until 2pm. Went to the outlet mall, then took a nap until 5:30. Went to DTD where we had dinner and a movie. Drove back to the hotel at 11pm. Total steps - 18799

Sunday - All day at Epcot from opening until 7pm. Then went back to hotel to pack. Total steps - 16849

Honestly, I thought it would be more than that. We didn't take *any* intra-park transportation when were there....no Friendship boats at Epcot, no MK Railroad at the Magic Kingdom. I guess we were just efficient with where we went and what we did. I will take 16K steps if I play basketball for a while or walk 9 holes of golf.

The last time I carried one in WDW, the day I spent outside the parks, I walked over 14 miles. When I was in the parks, I think it was around 13 miles.

That is why people always say start your walking training early before your trip lest you be hurting before your trip ends.
