We started doing the morning "Welcome Show" with the characters on the steam trains in about 2005ish (maybe even earlier?). I know I was driving the Welcome Show train on weekends in at least mid-2005.

I think she's reffer to being chosen as the family of the day by getting to MK early.

Actually it is now worse than a real rope drop. We are now escorted down Mainstreet, after the opening show/countdown. The escort is behind a rope and it becomes a shoving match with most kids being dragged down the street so they can be first in line for the Mine Train or to see the Frozen Characters. It's a fast walk and if you cannot keep up you will get left behind !! hahaa!!
