We stayed on property for years but our son was diagnosed as a diabetic about 3 years back and having our own kitchen works best for us. We stayed last week at the Grand Beach Resort in Orlando. It was late August and we got a 2 bedroom, kitchen, washer/dryer, screened patio for about $100/night (plus a $10/night resort fee). They actually upgraded us to a 3 bedroom even.

Very nice and spacious room and resort, 10-12 minutes from all the parks. Two pools, nice grounds.

The price was ridiculously low (kudos to my wife for finding that one). Didn't have to take any sort of shared ownership tour.

I'd highly recommend it for that price... ymmv however in busier times.

That's a great deal! Glad it worked out for you and met your family's needs.

On our first trip to WDW I found a beautiful 2 bedroom condo at Sheraton Vistana Resort for $400 for 7 nights. That was $400 even, no tax, no fees, no timeshare tours. It was a great resort, and was super convenient to the parks. 5-10 minute drive in most cases. We had never stayed onsite, so had nothing to compare it to. It was great!
