It's gotta be MK. What's more all American than that?

I heard from an imaginer once that every day on Main Street is Fourth Of July.
The time frame it was patterned after was the turning of the 20th century.
Back then people either worked or went to school. Saturday was considered a day to work on the farm or the house. Sunday they went to church and was all dressed up.
On the 4th, everyone was off so they went to town as a family, there were American flags up and down the street, they had ice cream cookies, usually a carnival was in town so they could play games and ride rides, and at the end of the evening there was a huge firework display.

You could get me near MK on the fourth. MK will hit probably phase three closure before noon, maybe even phase four. Phase four almost certainly at some point or two during the day. The amount of people is mind blowing... If you insist on going, I suggest getting there early and plan on spending the entire day as there is a chance if you leave that you won't get back in.

Epcot was my park of choice when we used to go, it has tons of people too, but holds crowds much better.

MK will be *PACKED TO CAPACITY* on both the 3rd and the 4th.

We were at WDW during the Fourth of July this year and opted to celebrate the holiday at DTD during the morning, resort pool during the afternoon (they had such a great pool party and lots of games and prizes related to the fourth of July, and they decorated the area as well) and spent the evening at DHS with Fantasmic (which was filled to capacity).

However, the best part of the night was the firework display at our hotel at night. Besides the fireworks being in view from MK, they had great fireworks on the lake at the GF.

We purposely stayed clear of MK and Epcot, knowing that those parks would be over crowded.

Is it more crowded than Chrismas?About the same. It's the second-most-crowded time of the year at the parks behind Christmas/New Year's.

Besides the fireworks being in view from MK, they had great fireworks on the lake at the GF.The "fireworks on the lake" are actually what we (as former CM's) refer to as "double shot". The MK has perimeter fireworks (all the way around the park), and then the "main" fireworks (that are shot off behind the park) are "doubled" by firing off from one of the islands in Seven Seas Lagoon. It's not a "separate" show.

We will never ever step foot in MK on July 4th again. It was so crowded when we went in 2007 on July 4th, it took us about 1 1/2 hour just to work our way down mainstreet to the hub. It was literally shoulder to shoulder jam packed. We asked a CM if they could escort us out of the park somehow because we felt it was unsafe, especially with us having small children at the time. They took us out the back way. We went back to the resort, got in our car and went to the beach instead. Worst WDW trip ever.

My suggestion is go to MK on July 3rd. It is less crowded, especially for the fireworks AND it is the same exact firework show they do on the 4th! Do MK on the 3rd then enjoy another park(s) on the 4th :mickey:
