Low crowds recently?

So, first, I heard it on TWO different podcasts that I listen to that there have been lighter than normal crowds since the beginning of June. Then today, Intercot's Facebook page referenced light crowds today (a weekend at the MK in mid-summer).

Is this true??? Anyone else encounter this?

Wasn't today a wash-out with rain that lasted for quite a while?

I thought the crowds the last week of June were exactly what I expected with the exception of the first day which seemed a bit light. We went the same time last year and experienced the same crowd levels both years.
