I just heard that the only way to pay for food in the parks is to charge work your bracelet... Can'y pay cash. Is that true? It doesn't sound right, but got it from someone who just came back.

Highly doubt that. Not everyone would have the means to pay electronically.

Unless something changed in the last week and a half, definitely not true!
We were on the DDP, but purchased a few things on our own, with cash.

I highly doubt it. Especially with off-site people not having the ability to charge with their tickets (either cards or bracelets).

Definitely not true. I was just there at the beginning of May, and WDW seemed to be very fond of my cash.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

If you are willing to give Disney your money, they will take it.

(Which, BTW, is true with most business'.)

Only those with resort hotel reservations are the only ones who can have the option to put charging privileges to their room and the Disney Dining Plan (ie: the band). Day trippers and those staying off site do not have that option, even if they purchase the band. So yes, Disney still takes cash.

I'm pretty sure if you walked up to Disney with a sack full of pennies they would take it, and anything else you were willing to give them. :twocents: :twocents:

We were there on Sunday (5/18), paid cash. Had no problems.

I may bring some Aztec Gold I have been needing to unload and try that theory out! :chest:

I was wondering if I could give the front desk cash to put on my band, I do not want to use a credit card and I don't want to carry cash around?

Just purchase a gift card with the cash and pay the bill. You can hide the gift card or put it in the safe. Take a picture of the back of the card in case it is lost or stolen.

Definitely NOT true. I only ever bring cash with me and a Disney giftcard with a good amount on it. My debit card comes along in case of an emergency, but I will never put my cards/money on my magic band.. I don't like the idea of it and I can care less if it is easier.. yeah, easier to spend more! LOL :mickey:

Was just there 1.5 weeks ago for a few hours to catch the end of the F&GF. Not true ;) I used cash all day!
