Disney PRESS RELEASE:

It’s almost here! Magic Kingdom Park (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/destinations/magic-kingdom/?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q3RockYourDisneySidewithSpecialEntertainment atMagicKingdomPark000119-05-14) is going to stay open from 6 a.m. Friday, May 23, until 6 a.m. Saturday, May 24, so you can Rock Your Disney Side (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/24-hour-event/?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q3RockYourDisneySidewithSpecialEntertainment atMagicKingdomPark000219-05-14) for 24 straight hours! Throughout this mega Disney day, all your usual favorite characters and shows will be available, and we’ve also planned some special entertainment experiences for you:

Everything kicks off with a special edition of the Welcome Show, as heroes and villains make their way to Magic Kingdom Park.

The “Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It!” Street Party (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/magic-kingdom/move-it-shake-it-celebrate-it/?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q3RockYourDisneySidewithSpecialEntertainment atMagicKingdomPark000319-05-14) will feature Disney heroes at 10 a.m. and Disney villains at 1:30 p.m. When it comes to the 5:45 p.m. performance, though, exactly who makes an appearance will be determined by your votes throughout the day! (More information on how you can vote will be posted on Friday morning).

The Magic Kingdom Park parades will each have two performances, with the “Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/magic-kingdom/festival-fantasy-parade/?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q3RockYourDisneySidewithSpecialEntertainment atMagicKingdomPark000419-05-14)” at 12 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. and Disney’s Main Street Electrical Parade (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/magic-kingdom/main-street-electrical-parade/?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q3RockYourDisneySidewithSpecialEntertainment atMagicKingdomPark000519-05-14) at 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. And don’t forget “Wishes Nighttime Spectacular (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/magic-kingdom/wishes-nighttime-spectacular/?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q3RockYourDisneySidewithSpecialEntertainment atMagicKingdomPark000619-05-14)” fireworks at 9 p.m. and “Celebrate the Magic (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/magic-kingdom/celebrate-the-magic/?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q3RockYourDisneySidewithSpecialEntertainment atMagicKingdomPark000719-05-14)” at 8:45 p.m., 9:45 p.m., and 11:45 p.m.

Prior to each presentation of Disney’s Main Street Electrical Parade, the Disney villains roll through Magic Kingdom Park in a pre-parade, celebrating how “It’s Good to Be Bad!”

Starting at 11 p.m., half of Princess Fairytale Hall (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/magic-kingdom/character-meet-cinderella-rapunzel-fairytale-hall/?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q3RockYourDisneySidewithSpecialEntertainment atMagicKingdomPark000819-05-14) becomes Scary Tale Hall, the perfect place to encounter Maleficent and the Queen from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (http://movies.disney.com/snow-white-and-the-seven-dwarfs?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q3RockYourDisneySidewithSpecialEntertainment atMagicKingdomPark000919-05-14).” (Don’t worry, though. The other side of the hall will still feature favorite royals Anna and Elsa (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2014/04/frozen-anna-elsa-arrive-at-princess-fairytale-hall-today/).)

Later, around 1:45 a.m., the villains take over the rest of the park’s character greeting locations. Where Aladdin and Jasmine appear in Adventureland during the day, expect to find Jafar instead. Elsewhere, Dr. Facilier takes the place of Princess Tiana, Captain Hook subs for Peter Pan, and more!

In Tomorrowland, the #INCREDIBLESSuperDanceParty rocks the Rockettower Plaza Stage from 4:30 p.m. – 10 p.m., followed by Incredibles Movie Night with screenings of Disney•Pixar’s “The Incredibles (http://movies.disney.com/the-incredibles?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q3RockYourDisneySidewithSpecialEntertainment atMagicKingdomPark001019-05-14)” from 11 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Disney’s “Up All Night” Dance Party at Cinderella Castle (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/attractions/magic-kingdom/cinderella-castle/?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q3RockYourDisneySidewithSpecialEntertainment atMagicKingdomPark0011) and the Frontierland Dance Party on the west side of the park will keep things festive from 2 a.m. – 5:45 a.m.

This grand, 24-hour extravaganza concludes with a special “Kiss Goodnight” at 5:50 a.m. at the Railroad Station in Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A.

So whether your Disney Side (http://disneyside.disneyparks.disney.go.com/?CMP=SOC-DPFY14Q3RockYourDisneySidewithSpecialEntertainment atMagicKingdomPark0012) aligns more with the heroes or the villains, you’re in for a whole day and night of fun at Magic Kingdom Park!

Good luck and Godspeed to all those attending! It looks like an awesome event, but these events have been packed to the gills in the past... and Villains really bring the crowds! :malef:

So true, Maryanne! The Villain Friday the 13th event was a disaster crowd-control wise, and last year's 24 hour event had lots of complaints as well regarding crowds. This could be a big disaster. Yikes!

I wish they'd open it up at more than one park in Florida. I get the logistics/staffing issues, but come on, it's one day!

I"m on the fence. I'm tempted to go to continue my streak of attending all of them but I am not in a crowd mood this week.

If I do decide to go, I will report in.

I went yesterday for the morning. Pictures are up on the INTERCOT Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.

I was there from 7 to about 12:30. Having gone the year before from 8 pm to 6 am, the morning is much much less crowded. I think more people are interested in the overnight portion so a lot of people tend to arrive later. This plus a surprise opening of the Mine Train contributed to extremely low wait times. For the morning most rides including Space Mountain were walk ons. At 11 the longest waits were 20 minutes for Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder and 40 minutes for Peter Pan.

The Mine Train consistently had a wait of 60 minutes the entire time I was there.

I saw one photo from overnight that had the character waits- Maleficient and Evil Queen, and Anna and Elsa- at 300 mins each!!!
I'm glad it wasn't too crowded when you were there.

I was there (from opening to about 10pm). I had hoped to stay the entire time, but I got really sick and had to leave early (it may have been just as well- the character lines were crazy, especially the one I wanted)

Not a resident...so we seldom have an opportunity to do these special event days. BUT since we were there on vaca we opted to go. Didn't get to MK till 7:30PM or so. Crowds we not bad. We waited in line for 7DMT and it was worth it. Signs showed 70 mins but we were just under an hour. Great ride! Will be interesting to read the reviews once more have rode it.

Yes FROZEN princess MnG was 300 mins when we were there.

We bailed at 11PM or so and the traffic coming into the parking lots and MK entrance was growing exponentially!!! We got in and out just in time. Main street was a mess too.

BTW, no FP offered on 7DMT and the line moved very very fast. Makes me wonder IF FP helps or hurts. ALL of us in the line, and there were lots, we were way past the rides cue and directed towards the Big Top Circus banner in that area of the park. The line moved orderly and quickly and I know we got on in less time than the posted 70 min wait by the CM holding the sign he had. SO I'm 2nd guessing my thoughts on FP after this experience. Jus'sayn... Glad we scored when we did as twitter feeds said shortly after the time jumped to 180 mins on the ride.

Either way we enjoyed our vacation at the World. Headed home now - 15hr drive.

Also enjoyed your twitter feeds too AgentC. THANKS!!!
