So I am listening to my MP3 of FOTLK and in struck me that I did not fully understand why Scar is so bitter, what exactly was the "injustice" to him? Was it nothing more that him being born second? Or that Simba was born later? Or is their a deeper story that I am not aware of?

Agree. I always thought it meant that he was just self-centered/selfish and thought he was entitled to it.

He felt entitled to the throne after Mufasa, Simba being born instantly ruined his plans for the future so he took matters into his own hands.

I guess it was just a deeply selfish personality that drove him then. I thought maybe there was some backstory I wasn't aware of (in Lion King 2, 1.5, etc.) as to why he felt so entitled and angry, like perhaps he was skipped as King so he could marry Lioness Wallis Simpson, his one true love. :D

But it appears he is just a jerk through and through!
