What do you consider to be "E-ticket" attractions?

I was in a discussion recently on this topic, and I was curious to open it up to the fan community at large.

What at Walt Disney World do you consider to be legitimate "E-ticket" attractions?

I don't want to provide any definition of "E-ticket." It's a subjective term. But I'm wondering where everybody stands.

This is my list, for reference:

Magic Kingdom: Splash Mountain, The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Epcot: None

Disney's Hollywood Studios: Tower of Terror, The Great Movie Ride (my controversial choice, I suppose).

Animal Kingdom: Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest (assuming working Yeti), Dinosaur (also assuming the effects are working)

Just thought it would make for an interesting conversation.

I agree with this list, except maybe add Dinosaur at AK.

I think it's mostly determined by wait times, so going off of that Peter Pan may be considered an "E" Ticket as well, but my gut says its not. Also, if going with wait times, Star Tours would probably not be considered an "E" Ticket.

An e-ticket ride is a ride of excitement or great fun.


So here is mine:

MK- Space, Splash, Big Thunder, Buzz
EP- Mission Space, Soarin, Test Track
HS- RnR Coaster, TofT, Star Tours, Toy Story
AK- Everest, Dinosaur, Safari, Kali, Primeval

There are a few I debated, those include:

Tea Party, Dumbo, Speedway (These are great fun with kids)

Wait times are a great way to look at it, but my thinking was there has to be some kind of 'thrill.' I definitely debated Dinosaur, and should have included it.

I always consider them to be the ones that regularly have long wait times.

The term actually comes from the Disneyland/Disneyworld "E Coupon" system prior to 1982. It allowed riders on the newest and most popular rides. That is what I still consider the term "E ticket" to mean.

My list:

MK:
Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Epcot:
Soarin, Test Track

Hollywood Studios:
Rockin Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror
(Most would put Toy Story Midway Mania on this list but I don't get it. All it really is is Buzz Lightyear 2.0. I have ridden it twice in the past but have skipped it for a few years now. May never ride it again.)

Animal Kingdom:
I would say Expedition Everest and KIlamanjaro Safari but we haven't even been in AK in 3 or 4 years. The entire park is a pass for us but I will say that Festival of the LIon King is one of the best shows and my favorite. I'm just not willing to waste a day for one show (when it was open). Once they add the new stuff, maybe this will change.

MK: The three Mountains and thats it. HM, POC are a step below those.
AK: E.E. Maybe the Safari if you stretch the definition. Dinosaur is not really an E Ticket any longer.
Epcot: Soarin, Test Track
DS: RNRC, HTOT: I also dont consider TSM an E Ticket. Like Buzz, it will always be a steady attraction, but, not a headliner.

For the most part, I agree with those lists. There are a few you could argue. I don't know that to be an "E" ticket that it has to have thrills, though the rides with thrills should definitely make them "E" tickets. Soarin' is great, but no real thrills. Also, Toy Story Mania I think would have to be included.

MK - The 3 Mountains, and Seven Dwarves (when it opens)

Epcot - Soarin', Test Track, Mission Space

DHS - TSM, R'n'RC, TOT

AK - Everest, Kilimanjaro, Dinosaur

Huh. That's three at each park. Until Seven Dwarves opens.

The old ticket books didn't prevent you from riding attractions more than one time. You could use all your E-tickets on the same ride, or .. . just buy more tickets. They'd sell you all you wanted to buy.

Here are the original E-ticket attractions at MK when the ticket books were still in use in the 70's. Hard to believe now, but that's the way it was. Audio-Animatronics were a big deal in those days.

Splash and Big Thunder weren't opened yet.
