To compete in the American Idol event, do you need the FP+?

It seems that the FP+ is simply to watch the show...

any advice?

I saw a small area between Toy Mania and Back Lot tour where people we doing auditions on my last trip. They would just wait. In line and tried out then. It was walk up service. I am not sure about the show though.

The FP+ is just to see the show and not needed IMO.
