Funny Story:

It was my parents' first time to Walt Disney World. They've never seen anything like it. We were on Dinosaur when the ride broke down for an extended time. Even when the ride is down, the audioanimatronics keep moving. You could hear them in the darkness. After a long period, my mom said, "Maybe we should dial 9-1-1." She was truly frightened.

To this day, if we're on a ride and it breaks down, someone says, "Should we call 9-1-1?"

We got stuck on POTC last year for 10 minutes at the beginning of the ride in the mermaid area and had to listen to "Jolly Sailor Bold" over and over and over and over again...:help:

Most recently, we were stuck on Expedition Everest. The ride shut down just as we go to the very top where the tracks are torn up and we should start moving backwards. We sat there for about 15 minutes or so before the ride restarted and we began moving again. I will say we had a wonderful view from that vantage point!!

Got stuck on Toy Story Mania at Disneyland around the time it was just opening. Had to wait about 5 to 8 minutes until someone came to let us out of the vehicle. They then walked us through the ride to the exit.

We've been delayed many times on HM, PoTC, TT and waited in line at the gate for RnRC...but in all the years we've gone we have never gotten stuck on a ride. Knock on wood! IaSW would be the worst! I pity anyone stuck on it!

Last year we were on the TTA when Space Mountain went down. So we got to see it with the lights on. People were stranded all over! We got a pretty cool video of it from the TTA!:mickey:

Yes!! We were stuck on Splash Mountain in one of the last scenes... the "zip-a-dee-doo-dah" scene with the singing chickens on the big riverboat! That 15 minutes seemed to last forever before they got our logs moving again. Holy cow those chickens can sing loud! LOL :listen:

The boat in front of us sank and got stuck in the fire scene on Pirates of the Caribbean. We were stuck for over 20 minutes. The guests on that boat had to get out and walk out. They pulled the boat to a spot where they could take it out of service and then we rode the rest of the way through.

We listened to "Pirates life for me" over and over for about 10 minutes and they finally turned the music off but the dog kept barking and about drove us crazy.

Yes about 10 years ago on test track right as it was turning the corner for it's final 65 mph turn. My wife took my older son to Universal for the day and I stayed back with my younger son and daughter. We went on test track and the two kids were just thrilled and could not wait to tell their mom and brother about it since they did not go on it yet.
The next day we went back to Epcot, waited in line, and got on. As it was starting to turn the corner for the final fast part of the ride it slowly stopped and we sat there, sat there and then my wife said " this is different" how long do we sit here for. Well, we sat there for 10 minutes, never knew why.
Needless to say we got off and got back in line so they could get the true feel of the ride.

I've been stuck on a few rides.

The one I remember the most was the Carousel of Progress. I lost count of how many times we watched the same scene over and over. It's always been one of my favorites but I didn't go on it for quite some time afterwards. :)

We've also been stuck on the final section of Buzz Lightyear, Pirates of the Caribbean, It's a Small World and the Haunted Mansion.

When you go a lot , it's inevitable that you'll get stuck on something that's not working!

DH got stuck on ToT about 6 yrs ago. We were doing ride swap. DS and I kept waiting and waiting. It was right before the drops. They had to be escorted off and climb safety ladders to get out. He said it was a little scary but pretty cool to see!

We got stuck on the lift to TeamBoat Springs at Blizzard Beach once. We were about 40 feet out from the top landing when it stopped and sat swinging in mid-air for about 15 minutes. Also, got stuck on a Magic Express bus in the median of the interstate on the trip back to the airport last year when a car cut the bus off and the driver hit the car. Do those count?:D

We got stuck on Winnie the Pooh last year. It was a bit of a saga, since DD was only about 4 weeks after ankle surgery and still couldn't put any weight on it.

Luckily, it was the only day of the trip that we brought her crutches so although it was hard, she was able to crutch out of the ride, while a CM carried her wheelchair. She did refuse to try the ride again during our trip.

Been in lines when the ride closed a couple of times (Test Track and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster). We were on Test Track once when it closed and evacuation took only a few minutes. We stopped in the corrosion test sequence.

In 2012, we were on Small World and pretty much had the ride to ourselves. We were waved off, passed the Village Haus, and saw a teenaged boy sitting on a the platform next to the reindeer in the first room. Just as we were about to pass under the arch, his parents started screaming from the exit ramp. The CMs saw what was going on, and shut off the jets that propel the boats. We ended up sloooooowly floating through the ride, with extra lights on. For a little while the CMs turned off the music, but that was really creepy, because you could hear all of the moving parts of the dolls creeking. Since we were alone in most of the rooms, moving slowly, and had extra light, my husband suggested that it would be a good time to take the pictures that I always wanted but would never come out. I did end up with some fantastic photos.

When we FINALLY got off the ride 45 minutes later, I asked the CM's if everything was okay. They denied that there had been a problem!

Small World is still one of my favorite rides but it was very hard to convince the family to ride again that trip.

Winnie the Pooh ride, this past September. Right at the point where you start "bouncing" with Tigger. I would say it was something like 20 minutes. They had to go get a foot stool to help us down, as the ride did not restart and everyone was led out the side entrance.

We were all given a magic fastpass good for any ride at any time, and that was good for like two weeks. We used it for Peter Pan, as Pooh wasn't long when we returned.

Splash Mountain right at the lip of the big plunge! Were were stuck for a long time, and I had to go! the family in the log behind us had a little boy with the same problem. At one point a CM came out a side door and the family explained their urgent need to exit the ride, CM said "it's OK to pee in the log" and told us to remain seated. All told easily 30 minutes but I got some great shots of the castle fromthat vantage point. "It's OK to pee in the log" ahs become one of Disney inspired family catch phrases!

We got stuck on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (TTA) for about 30 minutes right above the bathrooms near space mountain. They had to come and get us and we walked next to the track all around the park then used a behind the scenes exit. Was interesting but started to get worried because our youngest had to use the bathroom. This taught us to never wait until after a ride to use the bathroom, if you feel the urge go before because you never know.......

A couple of my favorites: Haunted Mansion ballroom scene for 10 minutes & Buzz Lightyear for 10 minutes (we all got 999,999 points that day).

My least favorites were 25 minutes at the base of the big drop on Splash, right before our log was about to start its climb.

Back when Dinosaur was "Countdown to Extinction", we got stuck on that and they had to turn the lights on. It was really interesting to see that everything that's dark just looks like a concrete warehouse. It's kinda neat to see how WDW controls exactly what you see (ie, floating torsos animatronic dinosaurs).

We were stuck on space at DL just after starting down. We were precariously perchd on a section of track where we could only see one other train. I am not sure how long we were there, it felt like 20-30 minutes, but if you ask DH he would say it was an hour. He was panicking in the restraint and very uncomfortable. We were the last train unloaded. I really enjoyed seeing behind the magic but I didn't enjoy the panic attack. :mickey:

EE is our story as well. DH and I were on the ride and it got stuck in the exact same spot. We were up there for 20+ minutes and eventually they came and we had to walk down. We loved seeing the structure from the inside..beams and bolts and things. What we found odd was up there at the top there were all kinds of hair rubber band things. People must fling them up there as they are stopped.

We too we stuck on POTC about five years ago.

As we were loading the boats, I commented out loud, "I wonder what this place looks like with the lights on?" Then just before the jail scene we stopped moving. After about ten minutes, they shut the music off. A few minutes later, they turned the lights on and a CM came out and started talking to us, trying to tell jokes and be funny (he succeeded). Then after another ten to fifteen minutes, a CM with hip-waders on came out, jumped in, and pushed our boats back to the fire scene where we were helped out, and walked up through the set, and out an emergency exit. We rounded the back of the building, and came out just to the left of the entrance, close to the Jungle Cruise. All in all, we were stuck for about 30 minutes.

Since then, every time we ride POTC, *someone* in the family has to joke and say as we're boarding, "I wonder what this place looks like with the lights on?"

I recall being on Haunted Mansion relatively recently, but it was only stuck for about 5 minutes or so. The only time we were every really stuck on a ride was many years ago, back in the 70s, the entirety of WDW lost power while we were on the monorail just about 500 feet out from the Contemporary Hotel. I think we were staying at the Polynesian at the time. Can't remember how long we were stuck there, but I don't think it was more than a 1/2-hour. I was somewhere around 12 at the time, and was kind'a fascinated by the idea of The Magic Kingdom without power. I doubt that I'd find it so "fascinating" now. <lol>

OK to Pee In The Log?
OK, remind me to bring my own Lysol spray next time I'm going to ride Splash Mountain. Splash has been my favorite WDW attraction since it was built, but now, I'll never be able to ride it again without wondering. . . .well you know, did that kid that just got out pee in my log??? Good thing I'm not a germophobe, It's bad enough what people leave on the handrails, now I've got to think about sitting in someone's pee. :( :ack:

So did we...but it was about 10 years ago....we were stuck for almost 2 hours. After the lights came on, the music kept playing! LOL We had to wait for guys in those water pants to come push all the boats to a exit. We were the last boat to be unloaded. It was long but pretty cool! :)

Also Indiana Jones, we were walked out after about 30 minutes....a lady in the jeep with us was freaking out....lol She was trying to climb out of the jeep before our lapbelts were released and kept yelling at the cast member who had come out to get us out.

I'm trying to remember what attractions I've been stuck on. I do remember being stuck on Spaceship Earth waaaaay back in '83 all the way up at the top in the planet Earth room, and having to walk down all the steps to the bottom. That was an adventure!

The other ones we've been escorted off of were Alice in Wonderland at Disneyland and Splash Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland. It's kinda fun seeing some of the backstage area.

I got stuck on Splash a few years back, just before the big drop. We heard the same announcement about 50 times, then, just as they were getting it back online, a lady behind us had a panic attack and jumped off. So we were escorted off, and got fast passes for any 3 rides we wanted to use them on. It was cool to see the behind the scenes stuff though!

I was stuck on Space Mountain. We had taken our position to begin, but we never started. We sat and sat and, finally, a CM came to help us out of the vehicles and walk us out.

Like Nate, I hit 999,9999 on Buzz Lightyear. I like that one because I tell my youngest son he can never beat my record.

This probably wasn't being "stuck".

On omnimover rides, the entire tracks of cars needs to stop temporarily to allow people with mobility issues to board a ride vehicle.

This probably happens to me 3 or 4 times during a week long trip. I just hope it happens in Buzz Lightyear!

Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Peter Pan, Small World, People Mover, Monorail, Dinosaur, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion… It's all good I figure since they run so much there are going to be some problems. We just sit and wait it out and don't throw any tantrums  Some people get so mad. It’s never been a super long delay, so we just roll with it. Why stress it!! :mickey:

I've walked off Everest and Splash before.

But the best story ever is what happened to my son (13) and nephew (5) last summer. They were stuck on the Barnstormer, right at the top. One of the cars had already gone over the ridge when it stopped. They were up there for a really long time in the rain. They had a cast member stand by each car, which I thought was a bit odd. Then, the suits with radios showed up and I knew something was up. Then, the fire department came. They had to tie the track down before they could evacuate people because they were worried that if they shifted the weight, the cars would go over.

So, after about 35 mintues, they walked each group off. Everyone got a towel and like 5 fastpasses that were good for any ride and were good for 5 days.

That was an adventure!

I've been stuck on rides a bunch of times but the longest was on the people mover. I was with my cousin and we wanted to see the inside line for Space Mountain. We were across from the ride when we heard a loud bang, like lightning hit something, and the ride stopped. It began to pour, then the wind picked up. We got down on the floor, I have no idea what we thought that was going to do, until cast members came through to get us out. We were on a path along side the track and taken through Mickey's Star Traders. We were completely soaked, our sneaked squished as we walked. We had to go back to our room and when we got there, we found out the resort didn't see a drop of rain.

I noticed the stories about going through attractions without music/animatronics moving. My son and I went through Splash Mountain once when there was absolutely no music or movement in the animatronics. The cast members sent us through again and everything was working.

At the end of Splash Mountain....just after the big drop, you know that little waterfall on right side of the log? Well I got stuck there for about 15 minutes. The funny part is I was quick to show off to my family how dry I managed to stay...but that waterfall changed that. Disney did turn the waterfall off about 5 minutes before we started to move forward again, but it wasn't any help at that point.

I've also been stuck on Test Track a couple of times, had to be escorted off.

Big Thunder - on the first ascent up. It think it was a good 20 minutes - fortunately, a cast member came there to keep us company. And they let us ride it again without getting out.

Places we've been delayed multiple times: Small World, Spaceship Earth, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear, People Mover, COP and Pirates. In fact - on Pirates - they let us out the exit doors in the middle of the line - jammed packed & shut down. Kind of scary with all those people.....

And, I've been on Space Mountain when the lights came on - twice. That's disturbing because it looks like the track above you is so close that you're going to be decapitated. I did not like it with the lights on!!!!

HM in the ballroom! About 10 minutes and loved every second of it.
POTC - Right in the beginning where the smoke comes down and "Dead Men Tell No Tales!". We got stuck right in the smoke for about 10 minutes got going and then got stuck again by the pirate in the pig sty.

I really don't mind getting stuck on rides for a little while. I take the opportunity to look at the little details that might get overlooked as you pass by. The smoke in the face for 10 minutes got a little old though.

I don't know if the monorail counts as a ride, but my kids consider it a ride. Several years ago, we got stuck on the monorail between CR and TTC. It was after MK had closed, when the monorails used to operate more than an hour past closing time. We sat just off the platform at TTC for at least 45 minutes in complete darkness. I don't know if there was an electrical issue. or the exact problem, but I do know that after 20 minutes with no air circulation, those cars get hot! Finally, the train made it to the platform. The CM's had to manually pry open the doors. None of the CM's acted like anything out of the ordinary had happened. The whole experience was strange.

This past trip, Splash Mtn. stopped twice on one ride. Both times the lights came on, and the second stop was right before the hill to the big drop. Definitely ruined the feel.

On the flip side, one of the times we rode Haunted Mansion there were no stops!! First time in several trips that we've gotten all the way through that ride without it stopping.

Well, since in Florida 1 in 3 people use a scooter at WDW, they stop all the time to let those folks on. I've always felt they should limit the number of assisted folks on the ride as to not ruin the ride for everyone else.

a few times.

1. Haunted Mansion in the spell room, with the levitating instruments. Sat there for about 10 minutes, but it was a really hot day and I welcomed the stay in the dark, cold room. Plus I got to notice the little details more.

2. El Gran Fiesta right at the end where they have the fireworks and the stage. It's about a 30 second loop of traditional Mexican song "Adelita" and Donald screaming "HASTA LA VISTA!" 15 of the longest minutes you'll have. Still, I get a chuckle thinking about it actually. :D

3. TTA People mover right between the two launch/lift tracks inside Space Mountain. I didn't mind this one bit, again, as it was a hot day and I love SM. I was there long enough to snap some pix and record a video of myself explaining what was going on.

Like someone said before, you go to WDW enough you'll get stuck at least once, but I see getting stuck as bonus time on the ride so to speak, and a nice story to tell later. :mickey:

Just got stuck last Friday morning on Tower of Terror. We were there about 15-20 minutes. Once they got us out we were ushered out to the next elevator and all went fine. My only annoyance about it was I had timed out my ride so I could get a good spot for the Star Wars parade. By the time I got out it was packed. I got a reasonable spot but had to stay wrapped around a tree practically to keep my spot and get pictures.

We got stuck on Toy Story Mania during the soft opening for live forever! Honestly a good 45 minutes maybe an hour. The poor family in front of us had several young children and 3 of them were seated on 1 side together. When we stopped, both parents stopped facing each other and the set of 3 kids stopped facing a wall practically. We were in that last turn. The poor mother was screaming for help. It was traumatic to say the least. Now every time we get on the ride I make sure to leave some wiggle room in the seat just incase we need to get out. Its by far one of my favorite ride but I will never forget that experience.
