Star Wars Weekends - Special stuff?

This is our first time going to Star Wars Weekends, and we're super excited! But we're wondering what kinds of extra things there are in the parks.

We know about the Character Dining this year. And we've seen the "Dancing with the Star Wars Stars" shows on Youtube. I also assume that there are special parades. What else? Different merchandise? Pins? Park decorations?

oh yes they do it up real nice. me and dw have been to this event a few times, it starts as soon as you walk in, storm troopers are on top of the entrance gates and make wise cracks to the masses that are entering, you also here fighters going bye and allot of star wars music, certain areas are decorated especially the star wars area, there is 1 parade and i believe 2 special stage shows, for all your merchandise they're is a special tented area all star wars. you guys will have a blast

That was one of our favorite things about rope drop during Star Wars Weekends, but the weekend we were there last year, they didn't do it.:confused:

Instead, two stormtroopers stood on these mobile towers on the main drag and made wisecracks every few moments. It just wasn't the same.:(

While I have not been to Star Wars Weekends in a few years, I will tell you that if you are a Star Wars fan it makes for some incredible memories. Meet and greets/photo ops/interaction with the characters (not the movie actors, just characters), the parade, the music, the stage shows, the actor sessions . . . it is all very exciting. We went for years, and I still tear up when I think of some of the more memorable moments when DS was a young padawan. While I had my concerns about Disney buying Lucas out many months ago, it makes me happy to see that SWW is continuing on and looks to be bigger and better than ever.

Would you believe that the longest lines we have EVER stood in in all our trips have been for the collectible merchandise and to have DS' picture taken with Jedi Mickey, Darth Vader & Emperor Palpatine at Star Wars Weekends?!!!! I kid you not. Don't know if you were able to snag an ADR for the character dining, but that would have been a dream to attend. They will also have special Star Wars fireworks which would be really really cool! Have a WONDERFUL time! :darth:

The ADRs for the character dining is the reason that we're going! We decided that if we couldn't score the ADRs that we wouldn't bother (we're only going to be there for three days). We have dinner at Hollywood and Vine one night, and then breakfast and the Sci-Fi two days later. SO STOKED!
