We will be vacationing in FL January 2014 and are planning to spend just 1 day at Epcot. We have some 1-day tickets to use up and Epcot fits perfectly into our homeschooling curriculum. So....

We will be in the area 1/18 - 1/25.

I was originally thinking we'd go Wednesday 1/22. But I see Wednesdays are generally more crowded at Epcot. So then I was thinking maybe Thursday 1/23 but I see that in 2013, Thursdays were typically EMH days.

So, what do you think our best shot is? I don't want to go 1/19 or 1/24.

We really want to do most of the attractions and our group won't have patience for large crowds. (2 grandparents, 2 small children, 3 adults -- 1 has panic attacks in big crowds)

Going in the middle of January, you won't see big crowds during the week. You'll only see moderate crowds on Saturday, with it a bit better on Sunday. But Monday thru Friday will be just fine. Just make sure you catch all the live show around World Showcase - that's really good cultural education for the kids.

Unless maybe I read the park hours wrong and EMH are actually Tuesday and Friday.

I'm so off my game. We haven't been to WDW in 2 years and I have not kept tabs on anything. I feel like a newbie. Help. :)

Well, if you decide to be there on Thursday, peek over at the "Terrace des fleurs" in France.
We'll be there for our daughters wedding reception from 6:00 til closing.

It's my bday, so a lucky day for all. And Tuesday's aren't that bad.

As much as I'd love to believe that mid-week in January will be quiet, our 2011 visit was in January and the crowds were quite thick. We didn't do Epcot that trip because by the time we battled the crowds, that we were not mentally prepared for, in the other 3 parks, we couldn't stand the thought of a 4th day. :(

The Crowds are kind of fickle in January. We've gone to Epcot in January, and it has been fairly empty as far as "Disney" empty is concerned while DHS is hoppin and boppin.

1 more question:
what attractions are typically refurbished in January?
