FastPass+ and Fireworks and Parade Viewing

The last time we were in the MK there was a large area, the area perfectly in front of the castle across from where the parade goes by (right behind Walt) that was roped off with a FastPass+ entrance. It was all but empty and the area all around it was packed.

Is this still a FastPass+ parade and fireworks viewing spot? Is it booked (by wristband holders) the same way attractions are booked?

This is still the case and it's booked the same as the other FP+ attractions. Although when we were just there the area was packed shoulder to shoulder with people and the CM was telling people there were 400 reservations made for that small area.
