When can I borrow points

Hey all. We are new DVC owners and we get our points in April. My question is, since I used all my 2014 points, when can I borrow my 2015 points? My flight for #runICOT got changed
And we may come down the night before and need a place to stay and figured I could use my points if they are available. Thanks for any help u could give me.

You should be able to borrow right now.
According to my DVC account (on the web site)
it says I can borrow points right now from my
August 2014
August 2015
August 2016
It's under "My Membership" "Vacation Points"
"Vacation points summary" click on the + sign to expand.

I would check with Member Services, just because it states they 'can' be borrowed, I thought you could only borrow one year ahead and not two...when is the run, would it be within one year from your 2015 UY?
Also make sure of your flight and when you borrow as it will remain in the use year that you borrowed into.

I think you're saying that you used all the points you should get in April 2014. So, for a stay after April 2014, until April 2015, you would need to borrow from the points you will get in April 2015.

You can't use the points you will get in April 2015, for a stay before April 2014.

Borrowing points means you pull them back into the prior use year. Banking points pushes them into the next use year. W. What points can be used where all depends on the actual date you want to stay, not when you pick up the phone to make the actual reservations.

I don't have a clue when this run you're talking about is, but if it's before April 2014, then you can't use April 2015 points to stay. If it's after, then yes you can. Be aware though, once you borrow points, they are locked into the use year they are pulled into (same with banking). If you do cancel the trip, the points would stay in the 2014 use year and would expire if not used before April 2015

Same thing happened to me for January, in reference to flight changes. I added one night at a Fort Wilderness cabin. LOL! :pine::pine:

For stays after April 2014...
You can actually borrow the 2015 points right now, if you wanted to book a stay for example May 2014.

If the run is in January, you can only borrow April 2014 points, not April 2015 points.
