I ran across this book in a search and decided to check it out since I hadn’t encountered it before. One Minute Service: Keys to Providing Great Service Like Disney World (2009, DC Press, 135 pages) by Bruce Loeffler is a short read that contains a lot of helpful hints about service that can be quickly implemented. The premise of the book is that it only takes a minute to provide excellent service. While I enjoyed reading this book and did pick up some great ideas from it, I found the Disney connection somewhat tenuous. Loeffler worked for Disney and while that work appears to have greatly influenced his philosophy towards service, there were not an overabundance of stories about Walt Disney World and no real glimpses into the inner workings at the Disney parks.
