Does anyone have an update to the WDW Railroad closure for rehab. On the Info Central tab it says 9/30 - 10/20, but I thought I saw somewhere else that it will be closed longer.

Any help?

Thank you.

Those dates are still the correct ones unless it's changed in the last 24 hours.

I'm so sad that this, Peter Pan, and HISTA playground will be closed for my 18-month old's first trip. Just another reason to go back! 😄

One of my *very reliable* sources (an engineer friend of mine that I worked with down there for about four years) is saying they're being told "October 20th".

And we leave from our trip on Oct 14th. Oh drats. Right behind a Boat ride, we always enjoy our Train Ride back in time to the Wild Wild West! :train:

Boy we will be keeping our fingers crossed :fingers: We arrive on the 20th and our DS 10 is an absolute train nut. I will have one very disappointed little guy if the train is not running. I guess we can always make the trip out to Conservation Station :mickey:

Is the train at the MK really going to be closed through Nov. 20? I thought I saw somewhere that it was going to be down through Oct. 20?

Have you spoken to them just recently? The reason I ask is the Disney refurb schedule (mediadisneywebcontent) now lists the refurbishment dates as Sept 30 - Nov 20 rather than the previous date of Oct 20. The 2 other sites that are usually very reliable updated their pages to Nov 20 this weekend.

I'm going to keep checking and will see what I can find out.

...And, in looking around at several other sites (All Ears, MousePlanet, WDWMagic, etc.), they are all listing a November reopening as well.

I'm diggin', I'm diggin'...

My 5 yr. old son is a train nut, too. It will reopen during our stay. I can't have the train not running and Peter Pan too!

OK, kids....*just* got off of FaceBook with my engineer/conductor buddies. (9/4/13)

They're still being told - by their Maintenance guys, not the park's - that it is still scheduled to reopen *October* 20th.

Even their *internal* Disney-Cast-only intranet rehab schedule is telling them October 20.

I just don't understand why the MK Railroad needs to be taken down at all, if they can manage to keep the Monorail from going down for months, why not the Railroad? What needs to be done that requires a complete (and long) shutdown.

DW and I return to the "WORLD" on Oct 20th, hopefully it is up and running. Always a nice ride around the Magic Kingdom.
Thanks for the insider info Jim!

What needs to be done that requires a complete (and long) shutdown. They are replacing some track - *correctly* - and doing some work on at least three of the bridges (one between Main Street and Adventureland; the swing bridge just past Big Thunder; and the bridge between CoP and Main Street).

Actually, them managing to keep the monorail from going down is debatable too... The monorail is a mess and needed to be overhauled 10 years ago...
