Refurb Dates

Does Disney stay firm on their refurb dates? We arrive on 8/17 and Spaceship Earth is set to close on 8/18 for refurb. If we go to Epcot on the night of 8/17 will the kids still be able to ride "the ball?" They love Soarin' and Test Track, but they really love "the ball" so we're hoping to make it before the Sunday close.

It could change, though I think it would be unusual for it to close earlier. I'd try to get there to ride it on the 17th. I'd be prepared that it could close early, though.

Yes they do change. The latest update given on 7/15 has the ride closed Aug. 21-28, 2013.

Phew!! Carol, thank you for that post - we start in the parks on the 18th, and I was so sad we were going to miss SE!! Now we can be sure we get there before the 21st.... :thumbsup:

Thats a fast refurb for a very large ride. Cool that we will be able to ride it if it opens on the 28th! Maybe something new and different will be on it!

Just commenting that I love that your kiddos call Spaceship Earth, "the Ball". My DS (now 15) called it "the Ball" during his first WDW visit at 3 and still does.
