Magic Kingdom Hours on May 24, 2013 6AM - 12:59 AM

We are going to be at WDW from 5/24 - 5/27 (1/2 day on 5/27). I was just checking the park hours for those days and noticed that the MK is open 6AM - 12:59 AM on 5/24 (Friday). Are these unusually long hours due to the Memorial Day weekend? Are they expecting exceptionally large crowds on that day?

MK will be open 24 hours on May 24th for the summer kick-off campaign.

The Magic Kingdom Park in Florida and Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park in California will stay open from 6 a.m., May 24 to 6 a.m., May 25, 2013, local time* marking the beginning of a summer of fun inspired by the upcoming Disney•Pixar comedy adventure Monsters University.

The MK will be open on 5/24 from 6am until midnight and continue being open midnight through 6am on 5/25. Then after closing at 6am on 5/25 the MK will re-open on 5/25 3 hours later at 9am for regular park hours.
