Is bottled water available in the Concierge Lounges in the resort? (Staying at the BC, Club Level...)

Thanks

No bottled water. From what I understand, some guests were abusing the offering and taking multiple bottles at a time to take to parks or just keep in their rooms or whatever. They were going through bottled water at an alarming rate. So now there is water, but it's offered in chilled pour it yourself containers.

That's kind of what I figured. Thanks! :)

If you ask, SOME club levels will get you small Dasani bottled waters to take with you. They are the 8oz size. Not all the resorts have this available, though. And, it's not out where you can see it, you have to ask.

Yep. What I was told by a manager CM at the Poly was that they were going through thousands of bottles more than they should have given the number of people staying in CL in a year. Another one of the reasons was that people would take more than they needed and leave unused, unopened bottles in their room. However, even though not opened they had to be thrown out, for health reasons they could not be put back in stock.

Too bad about the bottled water. Just goes to show that we're a species that can be incredibly greedy and wasteful when an opportunity presents itself. Not everybody mind you, but enough of us to ruin a good thing.

For what it costs to stay at club level I find it hard to believe that there was that much abuse. And so what if someone grabbed a bottle on there way to the parks. Disney buys in volume and I know I can get a case for $2 if I shop around. I think this is just more corporate penny pinching. Its things like this that make me want to get my own case of water and stay some place cheaper. Just my :twocents:

Believe it. I used to be able to sit in the lounge at about 11 pm at night and watch people fill up coolers with water, basically empty the fridge of water, often 'for the drive' home.

And at CL lots of people feel that they have to get their value out by taking everything they can get from free. And the manager, with whom we've got a very good relationship with, didn't mind that people took bottles to the park. That's one of the reasons that they were there. It was the admittedly unbelievable amount they were going through given the number of guests. It was as extreme as I wrote and had become a very significant part of the budget.

It's easy to say this, but apparently some people were cleaning out the entire supply for their own personal use. Grabbing a bottle or two for the parks would have been fine, but this reportedly extended way beyond a number of guests just grabbing a bottle or two. I think it was more a case of individual greed/hoarding than corporate greed, and on a widespread basis. So I can completely understand it and don't see it as Disney's fault, really.

Some guests couldn't get water unless they were in the lounge first thing every morning. It sounds like it got a bit ridiculous and they had to draw the line.

All I can say is What were those people thinking staying at Club Level? I mean really hundreds of dollars more a night to stay at Club Level and you go and embarrass yourself by emptying the fridge of water:confused:. Honestly words fail me when I think about this. I don't mean to put anyone down for staying at Club Level if I could truly afford it maybe I would do it. But I don't feel I am missing anything by staying at a value or moderate. Is it just a status thing to stay there when you really can't afford it? If you feel you need to take all the free waters you can't afford it. I know some people do some really silly things like spending more then they can afford for a vacation but I will never understand it. I am happy just being me and don't need to pretend I have more money then I really have.

Agree, they should be embarrassed but I guess some people's greed is far greater than there feeling of embarrassment.

We were staying at GF main building and we thought this couple were getting really smashed. Turns out they were filling up thermoses with wine and tupperware with snacks. We finally realized what was going on by that time they realized we knew and by the time the CM's got there they had snuck out of the lounge. I was amazed.

My mother and I just returned from CL at the YC, and all we had to do was ask for a bottle of water and it was given to us with a smile. Enjoy the CL! I am so spoiled now :)

We also brought some from home to have extra.
