I was wondering if for the quick service / lunch they seated you in the ball room or west wing area, or some other room...
Also I read that Splash Mountain was no longer open for the Magic Kingdom extra magic hours in the evening... Is this true? :confused:

Don't know about Splash.

With BOG you sit where you want at lunch and your food is "magically" brought to you. All 3 areas aren't always open, but you can sit wherever there's availability at lunch.

during lunch, all three rooms are open for seating. At dinner, only the Ballroom and the West Wing are available.

Splash Mountain is no longer offered for EMH in the evening. Probably due to the fact that in the evening, Splash is typically not busy, even less so once you take the general public out of the park.
