Do park tickets expire 14 days after first use or from first use? If I start using my tickets on Tuesday the 1st of October for example will they expire at the end of the day on the 14th (from first use) or at the end of the day on the 15th (after first use)?

From first use. It includes the day on which it is first used. A ticket purchased on Oct 1 will expire on Oct 14.

A ticket purchased on Oct 1 will expire on Oct 14.

I think that you meant to say,
"A ticket first USED on Oct 1 will expire on Oct 14."

14 days from first use would be the 15th.
But I'm not sure if that's the last day they can be used or the first day they can't.
But they are still good on the 14th.

Am I the only one that finds this confusing?

The website says "all tickets expire 14 days after first use unless No Expiration is purchased". So if you use your ticket on 10/1 the ticket expires on 10/15. Now with APs you can still enter the parks until closing on you expiration date so if the same applies then you should be allowed entry until closing on 10/15.

You have to count the first day it is used as the first day, and then 13 more days. Think of it as a 14 day period of use, not 15.

14 day EXPIRING example-

Ticket first used on a MONDAY.
Ticket expires 14 days later, or at closing time on
the second following SUNDAY.

Ticket FIRST USED on a Monday:

Day 1- Mon
Day 2- Tue
Day 3- Wed
Day 4- Thu
Day 5- Fri
Day 6- Sat
Day 7- Sun
Day 8- Mon
Day 9- Tue
Day 10- Wed
Day 11- Thu
Day 12- Fri
Day 13- Sat
Day 14- Sun
Day 15- No longer valid

I think what throws everyone of on this is the "AFTER" wording used by Disney.

It should not be thought of in math terms (adding 14), but rather how long is it valid for, inclusive of the day that it was first used. In this sense, AFTER is referring to using it for the first time.

Maybe it would be easier understood if they used the phrase "Good for 14 days from first use" or "Ticket good for 14 days beginning on the day it is first used", or something like that.

Maybe another way to think of it ...

The ticket has 14 days of life. The day it's first used is Day 1. The list printed by MickeysBestPal fleshes that out nicely.
