Mar. 24, 2003 – “Piglet’s Big Movie” premiered at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, Ca.
Mar. 24, 2003 – Business Week magazine published an image of Disney’s Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket characters for an article about lying on applications to business schools.
Mar. 24, 2005 – Disney Store North America announced that it was expanding into the retail outlet arena and will officially open its first outlet location on Long Island, N.Y. (at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets.)
Mar. 24, 2005 – The “Beach Club Marketplace” opened at the Beach Club Resort at WDW.
Mar. 24, 2006 – The Disney Channel Original Movie “Cowbells” aired.
Mar. 24, 2006 – Disney’s new Broadway musical “Tarzan” gave its first preview performance at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. The show officially opened May 10th.
Mar. 24, 2006 - Actress Miley Cyrus (the 13-year-old daughter of actor & singer Billy Ray Cyrus) stars on Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” with the debut episode “Lily, Do You Want To Know a Secret?”. Miley played 14-year-old Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana, who leads a double life. She lives with her older brother and widower father (played by her real-life father Billy Ray).
Mar. 24, 2009 – The much anticipated 5-disc set “Walt Disney and the 1964 World’s Fair” was finally released. A rare behind-the-scenes look at Walt Disney’s contribution to the Fair, it included a 24-page full color booklet and more than 3 hours of recordings from the classic attractions and exhibits designed by Disney.
Mar. 24, 2009 – Walt Disney Pictures released “Bolt” on DVD.
Mar. 24, 2012 – Engineer James Endler passed away at the age of 82 in N.Y.C. One of his biggest construction projects was his work on “Epcot Center” at WDW.
