Mar. 15, 1999 – The “Disney’s Doug Live” attraction opened at Disney-MGM Studios at WDW (Closed May 12, 2001)
Mar. 15, 2001 – The Disneyland Resort in California, officially welcomed its 450-millionth guest, Mark Ramirez, his wife, and 3 daughters.
Mar. 15, 2002 – The Lizzie McGuire episode “The Rise and Fall of Kate” aired on the Disney Channel.
Mar. 15, 2002 – Singer-songwriter Phil Collins (known for his music in Tarzan) was among the 10 inducted as Disney Legends.
Mar. 15, 2005 – The Academy Award-winning Disney/Pixar animated feature “The Incredibles” along with the animated short “Jack-Jack’s Attack” were released on DVD.
Mar. 15, 2005 – Walt Disney Records released 2-CD’s-The Ice Princess soundtrack (a compilation of music by such artist as Diana DiGarmo, Michelle Branch and Jesse McCartney) and Disney’s On The Record (a 2-disc original cast recording based on the touring stage musical.)
Mar. 15, 2005 – Typhoon Lagoon’s new water coaster “Crush’n’Gusher” officially opened at WDW.
Mar. 15, 2006 – In another first for Disney and Apple, “High School Musical,” Disney Channel’s hit, became the first full length movie to be sold on Apples iTunes Music Store.
Mar. 15, 2009 – WDW guests and cat members paused to catch a glimpse of Space Shuttle Discovery as it soared over the early evening Florida sky. The 7-member crew lifted off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center at 7:43p.m. EDT to deliver the final set of power-generating solar array wings and a new crew member to the International Space Station.
Mar. 15, 2012 – Disney’s “Newsies, The Musical” began its 12-week run on Broadway. (ended June 10, 2012)
