Mar. 9, 1997 – Walt Disney Records hosted an exclusive event for NARM (National Association of Recording Merchandise) ’97 Convention attendees in WDW’s Tomorrowland.
Mar. 9, 2000 - The 5th ESPN Zone opened in Washington, DC.
Mar. 9, 2001 – “The Luck of the Irish”, a Disney Channel original movie aired on TV.
Mar. 9, 2004 – Disney’s feature length film, “Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo” was released on video and DVD.
Mar. 9, 2005 – It was reported that the Hong Kong Disneyland theme park (set to open in Sept. 2005) has already booked 10,000 room reservations for its hotel since it opened a customer call center 3 weeks ago.
Mar. 9, 2006 – Movie fans caught a sneak peak of Pixar’s new computer animated feature “Cars.” Disney offered the World Premiere of the new theatrical trailer on a variety of broadcast outlets, basic cable channels, internet sites, and in person at the Disney Theme Parks, ESPN Zones, Disney Stores, and on the ABC SuperSign in Times Square in N.Y.C. (Cars is scheduled for a June 9th release.)
Mar. 9, 2008 – Disney’s “Block Party Bash” made its first public appearance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Fl. The parade featured the Pixar family of characters in 3 segments, “Toy Story,” “Monsters Inc.,” and “A Bug’s Life,” with “The Incredibles” making an appearance at the parades finale.
Mar. 9, 2009 - Guests who dine at Les Chefs de France restaurant are being treated to a unique kind of entertainment, allowing them to meet the culinary rat Remy, from the movie Ratatouille. Remy is an Audio-Animatronics puppet who, along with the restaurant maitre d' (a comedic actor), engages guests by performing a series of humorous, theatrical vignettes, using a moving food cart with a silver-domed cheese platter as their stage. Remy can make a variety of noises and comes across as a living, breathing little character with a point of view all his own. The Remy Cart was conceived by WDI Research & Development with support from WDI Creative Entertainment.
Mar. 9, 2010 – Disney’s “Hannah Montana: “Miley Says Goodbye?” was released on DVD.
Mar. 9, 2012 – Disney’s science fiction action film “John Carter” was released in U.S. theaters.
