Mar. 7, 2004 – The “Lion King Carnival” came to an end at Disneyland Paris.
Mar. 7, 2005 – Film producer, writer and director Debra Hill (known for such classics as Halloween) passed away in Los Angeles, Ca. In 1988, Hill signed a contract with Walt Disney Pictures for her Debra Hill Productions and produced the 1989 feature Gross Anatomy, short films for Disney theme parks and an NBC special for Disneyland’s 35th anniversary.
Mar. 7, 2005 – It was announced that the Disney-based Mandeville Films (who are shooting The Shaggy Dog a sequel to the 1959 Disney film The Shaggy D.A.) will start production on a new Swiss Family Robinson feature in Sept. at the Queenslands Warner Roadshow Studios in Australia.
Mar. 7, 2006 – Walt Disney Records released “That’s SO Raven Too,” a collection from and inspired by the hit Disney Channel Original TV Series.
Mar. 7, 2006 – Disney’s 1959 black & white “The Shaggy Dog” (starring Fred MacMurray) and the 1976 follow –up “The Shaggy D.A.” (starring Dean Jones) were both released to DVD.
Mar. 7, 2008 – Walt Disney Presents film starring Raven Symone, “College Road Trip – The Highway to Hilarity” was released.
Mar. 7, 2008 – In a ceremony prior to the park’s opening, Disney Legend Bob Gurr received a window on Disneyland’s Main Street USA. (Gurr’s Disneyland design included the “Autopia,” “Monorail,” “Omnimovers,” and the “Main Street Vehicles.”
Mar. 7, 2010 – More than 13,000 runners took part in Disney’s Princess Half Marathon at WDW. Gina Aalgaurd Kelly of Lisbon, North Dakota won the race in 1:23:58.
Mar. 7, 2010 – Disney/Pixar’s “Up” won Best Animated Feature Film at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards.
Mar. 7, 2012 – The 19th Annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival kicked off at WDW. (Ran through May 20th)
