First time using Air Tran

I know Air tran is one of the participating airlines to check out our luggage at the end of our trip. My question is since you have to pay for your luggage when can I do that.

You will get a letter in your room a night or two before your departure with instructions on how to pay for baggage fees. Basically you just call an 800# to pay the fees and you're all set. :mickey:

You must call ahead, pay and they will give you a number to give the clerk at the check in. You can NOT pay or call from the check-in area (on their phone....they don't have one).

Is this new? Last time I flew AirTran (a few years ago) I could pay at the check-in area. That stinks if you have to call first :mad:
